Mission invite ettiquette

I was reading another thread and it was mentioned that in some games it is bad form to use "blind invites". What is a blind invite and is it bad form here.
Sometimes when I am looking for a group I will advertise: Me/N LFG or the like but other times I will just invite myself to whoever appears to have empty spots in their group, ie the guy with the little 5 above his head.
I would like to know the most acceptable way to get an invite and to have defined: blind invite and self invite. Thanks!

Blind invite is running around in outpost or mission places and just randomly invite people.

Its bad because some people don't want to help out, or they are AFK. Self Invite is advertise who you are and your level skill. Also most of the time, you would put in the invite your level. So it look like this "Something level 20, LFG for mission, self invite"

This is a open invitation for people to invite themselves into that group since the characters asked for self invite. So you basically click on their name and invite yourself. Sometime you would get rejected base on your class (Warrior, Monk, Elementlist.. so forth)

Most of the more experienced players will automatically decline blind invites.

A blind invite is an invite with no accompanying whisper asking you to join, and giving mission and party details.

Most of the time, if you're looking to join a group, it's good to whisper one of its members and ask about joining before trying to join. That way, you have more communication going on, which is essential for every good party

My understanding of a blind invite (correct me if I'm wrong) is when you just look around town and invite characters into your team. Some people consider it bad manners but the person invited this way can opt to decline.

Self invite is as you described. You see the number above someones head and click to invite yourself. Team leader can accept or decline.

They need to turn of Invites in a Option or something or something, when someone blind invites me to a group and I decline, they keep offering me to join and join, they don't know that REJECT means NO..And if you say "just don't accept/decline", the thing is that's taking up more of my gameplay space and it's annoying.

Well, as it's frowned upon that you blind invite people <IE: You run around an outpost in a co-op mission just adding people, They still have the option to decline> And IMHO, when they take it further by calling you, "A dum idiot n00b lolzors" it really shows the maturity level of said people.

As for me, if Im in co-op, blind invites or not, I give the group a whirl. I consider it rude to decline someone that needs help <only exception: When i'm in a mostly-level 20 area and i get level 3-8's asking for a group slot, bad level 3-8's! Go level some =)>

But yes, blind invites are frowned upon, and if you get the aforementioned response you can truly tell the intelligence of them anyways <you wouldn't want them anyways>.

Instead, post your level, class, and what part of the mission you're looking to do. In Example:

Level 20 W/Mo Seeking Group for Mission + Bonus! PM <--doing this allows them to get your level, what you're out to do, and "PM" means a whisper, allowing them to "ask" for invite.
