Does Mesmer Fast casting work on secondary profession skills?

im tempted to build a Mesmer/Ranger and am wondering will fast casting affect my ranger skills?

no it only affects spells, and spells only. a majority of ranger stuff is skills and therefore makes no difference in skill time.

I know that's what it says in the guide on this site. But if I rememer what I was reading in the book that came with the game correctly it said "skills" not spells. I will have to check this though.

I've got a Me/R and haven't noticed where the fast cast helps with the ranger skills yet. It might just be that my fast cast is only at 3.
