-----------------------------
I'm working on my first build in GW and could use some advice. I plan to use the build primarily for PvE Soloing to get teh feel for the game, but my hope is that it will be effective in PvE Parties and then at least serviceable in PvP.
Here's my plan for the build so far:
Divine Favor 10 (61)
Healing Prayers 10 (61)
Smiting Prayers 9 (48)
Marksmanship 7 (28)
That should leave 2 points to spare... I'll try not to spend them all at once.
As far as skills go (for PvE soloing)
1. Charm animal (gives you some cover... your armor away from a party)
2. Disrupting Lunge (won't do much damage, but it will still interupt)
3. Favorable Winds (will this help you attack more often? The extra damage will be nice)
4. Hunter's Shot / Vigorous Spirit (one or the other)
5. Orison of Healing
6. Word of Healing
7. Divine Boon / Strength of Honor (one or the other)
8. Zealot's Fire (will this work with Disrupting Lunge as a 'skill used on an ally'?)
My thinking was to create a build that used very long lasting effects (Charm animal, Favorable Winds, Divine Boon, and Zealots Fire), and effects that are very cheap and recharge quickly (Orison of Healing, Word of Healing, Hunter's Shot, Disrupting Lunge). That will (hopefully) limit the energy requirements, so there is no 'battery' skill. I /think/ the build will provide enough healing, and damage. If Word of Healing and Orison of Haeling aren't enough (with the Divine Favor and Divine Boon boosts), then I'd substitue in Vigorous Spirit for Hunters Shot. For damage, the marksmanship ranks and Favorable Winds should help the build do decent damage with the bow, and the pet will add a bit more as well as the disruption, with the possibility of swapping in Strength of Honor. What I'm hoping is that zealots fire will also add area effect damage every time I use the disrupting lunge skill. That would make the damaeg potential fairly solid I think. Does anyone know if that will work?
When converting the character to party PvE, or PvP, I'd drop the first four skills and maybe zealots fire as well. I /think/ that divine favor, healing and smite attributes are good enough to make the build workable, and the marksmanship could leave some room for switching quickly to the bow even in PvP to snap off a a bow skill.
Any feedback on the build for soloing? changes in attributes, skills or anything... it's all on the table.
