I am Just starting back from about a 3, close to 4 month break. After 4 characters that beat the game, most of the quests, all skills unlocked, the works I am just getting tired of PvE right now. So I am going to try my hand at PvP. I was wondering if anyone could help me with some key skills for to work around Tombs/HoH, R/Mes inturupt ranger. I am not asking for a build, but if you want to go ahead and post one because im not complaining .

At the moment if you're a ranger looking for a group in tombs, you'll have the most luck either running a ranger-spiker or a ranger trapper, as they fit in the FotM builds. You can probably do a search and find cookie cutter builds for them.

If you're more interested in being an interrupter though, there are certainly teams out there that need them...they're just harder to find. And, it seems like every group I've joined as an interrupt ranger prefers different skills. In general though the interrupts that I've notcied being the most common lately are:

- distracting shot
- savage shot
- punishing shot
- choking gas
- leech signet

You could also squeeze some damage out of those kinds of skills with read the winds and/or favorable winds.

ya in hoh..go ranger spike..dual shot/punishing or quick/ etc..or catch an IWAY group and be there trapper.

Yeah the problem is with the spike ranger is that i have no clue what that is. I did tombs like 3 times with a tank and spike was just starting then for what i saw so if you could tell me more about a spike ranger i would greatly appreciate it.

Well, there's a lot of different ranger spike variations around, but a basic layout is often something like:

Dual Shot
Punishing Shot
Savage Shot
Read the Wind
Whirling Defense
Drain Enchant or Hex Removal
Spirit (FrozenSoil/Winnowing/FavorableWinds)
Res sig

Some people like quick shot and throw dirt over some of those skills. Other teams might put a twist or two on the build. If you start out with this and ask your team if they want anything specific you should be ok.

Ok, thanks alot for everyones help. Ive seen a lot of options on different builds and have many floating around my head im gonna try. so thanks again for everyones help.

Would something like this work?

Expertise 12
Marksmanship 10
Protection Prayers 8

Escape
Lightning Reflexes
Throw Dirt
Concussion Shot
Distracting Shot / or other
Dual Shot
Savage Shot / res sig
Reversal of Fortune

with escape, lightning reflexes and throw dirt, I think you should be able to maintain 75% evasion or keep several foes blinded for about 55 seconds out of every 60.

Concussion shot becomes pretty efficient, costing something like 8 energy if you can get expertise up to 14. Reversal of fortune would help offset the 1 in four physical attacks that get through or elemental damage.

It's an idea I plan to try out, though I've not been playing long so have no idea how effective it would be in game. Any thoughts?
