Right now my w/mo is about halfway to level 16 and in the crystal desert with only the thirsty river quest and the doppleganger left before he's ascended. I know how I'm going to beat my doppleganger(gonna temporarily switch to sword mastery with 12 AP and put in all the good sword skills like sever artery and gash so I can cut him down quick). I just wanted to know what level some of you ascended at in case anyone thinks it's advisable to get a couple levels higher than I am currently before I go and do it.

Actually for a warrior just drop all the skills and only take one: either Frenzy or Flurry. Remember whatever you equip your mirror can use also. I took a level 20 warrior with a good axe and just charged in with Frenzy and beat it in about 10 seconds. Then you get the 50,000 exp bonus as well. As hard as the other three missions leading up are, you would have thought it would be a bit more difficult.

Ranger/Me 1 level 20 about 30 seconds, desert collectors armor
Monk/Ele level 20 about 15 seconds, desert collectors armor
Necro/Me level 18~20 about a minute, Amnoon armor
Warrior/Mo level 15~17 about 10-15 seconds, desert collectors armor
Elementalist1/Me level 14 about 10 seconds, LA armor
Ranger/Me 2 level 7 too long, starter armor

working on Mesmer/N now, she's level 14 or so and needs to do the ascension missions

Isn't Frenzy an adrenaline charger skill? Or am I thinking of something different?

Frenzy is energy based, lasts 8 seconds, but you take double damage.

Nah, Frenzy is energy based. Don't know what you were thinking of, maybe "Fear me"?

I knew the skill used energy I just thought it made your adrenaline charge like 50% faster is all. I know now what it does. Brings me to why I'd want to use that in combat....

It has it's benefits, being able to attack 33% faster can mean a dead monk or an alive monk. If I use sprint with flurry against a monk, and have enough support I have more of a chance of taking him out. Plus, the faster attack means more adrenaline quicker, then you can disrupt the monks/eles spells with skills like earthshaker or backbreaker for example.

The doppleganger isnt the problem..its the missions leading to it. You'll be lvl20 afterwards anyway.

the Missions leading up to the ascending are way more harder then the actual doppleganger/bonus mission. Imho, Dunes of Despair was hardest with bonus, then comes Elona's Reach, and then Thirsty River <at least in my eyes>

I was a level 20 <290k exp> W/Mo when I did it, I blurred through him with a full skill bar, never once even needing to heal. All I did was frenzy ontop of my bleeding/deep wound. Ownage. He also dropped a nice hammer and I got a 50k bonus.

Since ascending, I love going back to face ol' Doppleganger. He's a blast, I do it over and over when I'm bored.

The 50,000 exp is from just killing the Doppleganger the first time. If I remember correctly the bonus is just 1k exp.
