Deadly cesta - Opinions?

Hi all,
Iv'e been using this same wep I got on a drop forever. It seems weird to me that this (one of my first purple drops a long time ago) has not been replaced by now, but I haven't felt that any other weps (Greens especially noticeable) can quite be worth replacing as my primary. It's really about the Energy bonus on a 1 hand weapon:
Deadly Cesta
10-19 Cold Dmg (req 7 DM)
Improves Curse (12%)
Energy +11
Energy regen. -1
This becomes a bit more clear as to why I like it when you remember that it is a 1 handed wep.
I use it and this simple blue focus:
Grim Cesta
Energy +12 (9 Blood)
Energy +15
Health +30
Energy regen -1
Thats 33 points + to energy , Plus another 30 health in this combo.
Thing is, there has got be be better NEC weapons than this. I just haven't seen one. I am not so concerned about it not being MAX DMG as keeping the energy bonuses on a 1 handed wep.
What have other folks seen that can offer the list below and is one handed?
1. Energy Bonuses greater or at least equivelent to +11
2. Anything with Health bonues?
AND
3. Greater Damage
Im curious to see if this may be about as good as I'm going to find.

How about:

Both are collector items so are "free". Personally I wouldn't use them under normal circumstances due to the negative energy regen.

2. Not sure...I dont' think so though...

I'd keep the offhand item with +27 E, +30H, -1regen and use tattoos/armour to add E. Having -2 regen easily counters the +11 E you get from the main hand item. But i'd ditch the main hand item and get either a collector piece or green that boosts casting/recharge speed.
I use those collector items on my monk, mes and necro but find something else to be my main item. Hell I even use the collectors Firewand from outside Nolani's that gives me +5 E (no criteria like health above 50%) for my monk so Im right at 70E with 3 pips of regen. You see me calling my E allot less than most Healers and I keep blood flowing just as well if not better...hehe.
There are drops out there, mostly ele wands from what I've found or seen being sold that will give you 1-5 energy permanently or based of some criteria like mentioned above. It's all personal preference - with the soul reaping option, you may have it jacked up so high the you're getting 10+E back everytime something dies and that counters the -2 regen....who knows.

Good points about the energy at +15 TY
As for the -1 modfiers, my armor already counters that pretty well, but the point about better casting speed is very good. It's always agravating when a Binder or Gnasher beats you to the casting haha
This is good stuff, and I'm hoping to see a few more suggestions. Thanks!

Well for corpse exploitation purposes - get the bloodstainded boots from Droknar's - it adds a bonus to casting speed for corpse exploitation.
Not doubting you here but I have a necro too and armour isn't gonna make up for the -2 regen on energy that you're losing. I have 60E with -1regen due to the +27E/+30H/-1regen offhand I carry and as well have 15k armour. So unless you've discovered another armour set I know nothing about......the additional 11 E you get with that main hand item is great on one side but causes you to actually be at a disadvantage because you wont recoup the E spent fast enough (again, unless you have a really high soul reaping)

The weapon is OK, but not really much different and even lower dmg. I like the fast recharge option. You should see it when it kicks in, almost funny how many curses you can throw around in Fow/UW. Thanks though.

To get a max dmg, +energy truncheon, you need to look on the Sell forum. Here's a few:

The general consensus is that all casters should go with 4 pips of energy regeration and not use -1 wands or offhands normally. I do find that the 27/-1/30 offhand helps me tremendously when I am running with Minions, because of the larger energy pool and the unpredictable nature of soul reaping.
I don't know what build you're running, but using BOTH a -1 offhand and a -1 wand seems like a bad item to me....

Personally, I would find a good wand/artifact or staff and use that in the primary weapon slot and put the two big energy items in an alternate slot and swap to them as needed. I prefer the 20/20 items as death spells can be slow to cast and recycle.
I pointed out the collector items as a way to show what you have isn't particularly unique, perhaps a bit better than the collector items though.

You can have up to 4 weapon slots which are tied to F1, F2, F3, F4.
For your primary slot (F1) equip the best staff or wand/artifact you have which could provide +15 energy or more and still allow you to have 4 pips of energy regen. You can also have the 20% chance of fast cast + 20% chance of fast recharge with this.
In the next weapon slot (F2) put your +30 (or whatever they add up to) energy -2 pips items and if you need a sudden energy boost hit F2 to equip them, use your mana and hit F1 to swap back to the faster regen item(s).

Ahh, yeah, I already have a MAX Staff I do that with
Mana? I pretty much stick with the N/Mo combo. I like having rebirth to get team mates outta trouble areas.

generally i would agree that the energy degen really sucks and isnt worth it, but on my necro i use the same type of weapon, with soul reaping, i almost never run out of energy, and i use blood mostly so if i am not bringing life transfer then i have offering of blood, so energy is not a problem
on my monk i sometimes use a secondary item with a -1 energy on it, and it can be a problem at times, but again i bring offering of blood, so it really doesn't matter
