Cutscene viewer
RotJ
Most of the people playing Guild Wars have gone through all the storyline missions at least once, and tend to click the "skip" button whenever they encounter a cutscene. There are also a few situations where skipping a cutscene will make part of a mission easier because you'll get extra time before mobs reach you or whatever. So new players who haven't gone through the storyline may want to view all the cutscenes, but are often compelled to hit "skip" when they see "5 out of 6 party members want to skip this cutscene". Or they don't hit skip, and everyone else is annoyed that they have to sit there for 5 minutes. It would therefore be nice if these people had a cutscene viewer like in many other games that lets you rewatch any cinematics that you've unlocked.

Great suggestion. I don't like watching a cut scene I've already seen so many times that I have it memorized, but I do understand that people want to see it first time through.

They may have a bit of trouble with this due to the cutscene's are specific in the mission.. unless you have a new option after you log in called cutscene viewer and unlock the movies as you view them but not while your in the game.

-I agree, many people seem to hit 'skip' because they feel others will be annoyed if they don't.

they need to have it like tombs/gvg where you can skip the scene and be waiting there with the rest of the party that skipped it, but anyone that wants to watch it is left there staring at it

I agree as well. Though just an idea for a way to do this. Because the mission CS's are character based (meaning you always see your character and your party in them) how bout in every town after a mission there is an NPC that you can speek to, a seer/fortune teller type NPC that allows you to see either all the previous CS's that you've unlocked through playing the missions, or just the ones from the previous mission. this way it encourages people to go through he missions normally and not just get to key places and never go back to do the missions. Any thoughts on this idea?

I try very hard to not be "that guy" who won't skip the cutscene... but especially with my first char... I wanted to know what was going on in the story line. To this day, I STILL don't know what the heck happened and why the big deal pre-searing was a charr invasion, ascalon gets burned, and suddenly... we are fighting dwarves in snowy mountains and such and ascalon is no longer an issue. huh. ok. just go with it i guess.
I'd like to have a cutscene viewer to see what i missed.

I think one way ANet can make it so that people don't feel guilty about not skipping cutscenes is by changing them so that there is no difference in gameplay whether you skip one or not. This would mean freezing the health degen of minions and not triggering time-sensitive events until a cutscene ends.

another idea about cutscenes would be to allow messaging to continue...i don't know how many times i've been cut off and had to say something important (ie Tactic) that would have made the mission easier but i end up waiting like 3min to retype it...in which case it's too late to implement it... plus it would be nice if like the minimap could still be fewed stuff like that...basically the whole interface minus movement
