There's a few you can't dye, green text shields for example. Also i think you ccan't dye the following:
Carthan Targe
Shield of the Wing
Aegis
Defender
Eternal Shield
Magma's Shield
Shadow Shield
Reinforced Buckler

I might be wrong, and maybe there's more you can't dye but i dont remember them all, hopt it helps.

defenders can be dyed, and shadow shields can be dyed

Tks Razoo, and Hannibal, most basically can't then? I knw y ou can apply dye, but it doesn't show color.
Or rather maybe i should be asking, which shields Show LOTS of color when dyed lol.. i just experimented on a bucklar and defender, and its barely noticeable.

I don't know about the others, but the Crimson Carapace shield dyes nicely. I know it's a collectors shield but it has nice stats and I think the skin is cool too.

What I like about dyeing a Crimson Carapace is that the dye leaves a cool metallic sheen to the shield.

i tried dying my eternal shield black and it didnt show, just stayed that good ol' blue transparent color

skeleton shields can be dyed...but u cant see ANY difference 0.o

The reinfored buckler can by dyed; the area affected is the gold center circle.

Ageis and Shield of the Wing; Will not even let you use a dye on it. I double click any dye and try to apply and the # of dyes never goes down.

Chuckle. Imho, if you want a dye effect on a shield, I do believe Ethereal shields <the see-throughable ones> are dye-able like a chaos axe. Or so i've heard, don't quote me on it tho.

they are like stormbows...they change shade, not colour.

Shim, sry I quote u but 'ethereal' shields dun exist. Eternal shields do and they can be dyed and the inventory pic of it changes but when u wield it it doesn't.

we should get some pictures going of dyed shields to show the effect, for example i was super dissapointed of the amount of effect shown on a bucklar and defender.

Maybe see if the folks with the thread(in community works) on weapon pic collection would be amiable to hosting such.

Shadow Shield CAN be dyed. It only changes the color of the eyes... but one can hardly tell...
