Is this link good for building a R/Me?

I have a lvl8 R/Me but still figuring out how to use it. I'm just wondering if this link (also called the "Shrapnel's PirateKing Build") is a good way to start a R/Me. If any of you has some different setup please list them.

That build is older than I am. Throw Dirt elite, that was like a year ago. Going pure ranger is fine in PvE.

um...then how should i build my R/Me?

You should be trying all the new skills out at pve lvl 8 as you get them instead of asking for a general build. Do that when you start pvping (or post ring of fire pve) if you discover you can't think for yourself.

Alternatively, you can look in this stickied thread, conveniently titled "ranger basics," and get a general idea of where to start making a ranger build. You might even want to look in the "mesmer basics" thread for some insight into the mesmer skills and their uses.

Just read the threads in this forum. It's impossible to summarize every ranger build possible in a reasonable amount of time. Also keep in mind that some of the stuff on the main site (including that build you linked to) are a bit out of date.
