Have you tried clocking your system down to normal speeds instead of overclocking?
Techie
Yeah sounds like artifacts to me, please check and see what your core and memory speeds are, especially if you flashed it to a Pro or XT or something.
Make sure DX is up to date. The most current version is 9.0c. Maybe try running a torture test with ATITool or something.

the gfx card is clocked at normal speeds and hasnt been softmodded. downclicking the cpu doesnt help and surely if the card was overheating or unstable due to an overclock it would be having more trouble in games like far cry? (it runs far cry hl2 and source with no problems)
as for the latest version of directX i thought that ati cards (especially the older generation) did not support 9.0c. if they do where can i get it?
-it is me having the problems btw i posted on my friends acc. earlier

9.0c works with all games, hardly if any bugs or problems at all.

Try that.
