Anyone else find themself staring at the skillbar and not the combat action? :)

I have to admit I'm the type of person who easily gets stressed and generally have problems paying attention to more than a couple of things at a time, but one thing that really bugs me when I'm playing this amazing game, is that there is so damn much going on during (PvE) combat that I find myself staring blankly at the skill, health and energy bar to monitor how long I can last, when the next skill is ready, energy up etc., and only occasionally take a look up at what's actually happening in the combat frenzy with myself, a group of henchmen and the 6-15 mobs that jumped us .

Currently it's just me feverishly hitting C + spacebar whenever one mob dies and then back to keeping up the crazy button hitting .

Anyone else having the same issues? I haven't dared venturing into PvP more than a couple of times yet, as I'm sure a good overview of the situation is a must here.

I love this game, but compared to most other mmorpg's (and singleplayer rpg's for that matter), the action is incredibly fast paced - or maybe I'm just starting to get old .

Yup, I told my guildmates that I'm looking forward to going through everything again as a non-monk since I spend way too much time looking at the health meters of my party...

I dunno, I find it pretty easy to keep track of both at the same time. Maybe you can practice by watching subtitles in movies instead of dub? Hehe, I watch a lot of subtitled anime so I'm pretty good at focusing on two different places at the same time.

sorry... you mean theres more on screen than 8 little boxes? huh... who woulda thought...

lol yeah i find myself doing this a lot. it depends on the fight but if its one where i need to keep using the skills, i watch the skills, and if its a fairly easy fight i watch the action as well

I do it on the battles where I'm the underdog, and I need to hit all the right notes, so to speak. If I'm fighting some tomato cans then I kick back and enjoy the visual spendor.

Not sure that type of practice works. Reading two lines of text takes a second or two - quite different from constantly monitoring all those numbers and up and down arrows on your health and energy bars, not to mention when your skills have refreshed and which ones matches your current energy level .

Well, guess I'll just have to work on it. Can the skillbar be moved around? I might give it a shot placing it higher up on the screen.

You can memorize the times it takes to get a skill ready for use, and use hotkeys. You can also keep looking out of the corner of your eye for the skill to light up again. I alternate my warrior attack skills with my monk protect/heal skills, the yellow/blue contrast lets me easily tell what skill it is that just readied up.
