I've heard it can be done, but can it be? Anyone here in the forums been able to beat the guy?
I'm on my 8th character on two accounts, so don't flame me about getting run through the game...just wanted to experience something new. And I'm also not begging for a build...just asking the questions above. (BTW, in case y'all were wondering, the mirror does 164 dmg with a bow when you're wearing beginning armor... )
Should I waste my time on the Mirror with my lvl6 Monk?

The easiest no frills way to beat him as a monk is bring only divine boon on your bar, leave the rest of your slots blank. Then just recast boon to heal yourself (through divine favor) and wand him to death.

Woah 164, damage. Damn, never mind then.

if you tell us what yor sec profession is we cn help you a lot easier.
if your a mo/ele then the best thing to take is meteor shower and fire storm, cast metore shower that stops him casting anything on you then fire storm to finish him off, dont take any healing skills as he will use them on himself.
just let us know your sec and we can help you faster

Actually try the boon trick with Protective spirit. That might work. It's not like prot spirit will have much effect on your wanding attacks.

Divine boon no longer triggers itself, so that's a really bad way to try to heal yourself. As far as I know, though, the doppleganger still refuses to use Healing Breeze for whatever reason, so...

I beat mine (barely) as a Mo/Me with distortion and spirit of failure, and empathy... and some really good arrow dodging practice . The trick when you're such a low level is to exploit the fact that he attacks and you don't, and use it against him.

some examples:
if u have 2ndary necro, get some life sacrifising skills.
if u have 2ndary mesemer, get illusion of weakness.
if u have 2ndary warrior, get frenzy.
if u have 2ndary elementalist, get iron mist.

Healing Breeze and Balthazars Aura. Thats all. He doesn't use either of them for some reason. He may use Aura, but he NEVER uses Breeze. Never. Ever. It's very cool

Sorry, secondary is Warrior for now, bit I might change to Necro once I ascend. The arrow dodging worked for my Ele, so maybe for my Monk as well, but with him doing 164/hit, it might be time for me to get some better armor...lol. Mostly this post was to see if it was even possible with a lvl 6 Monk/x. I've tried a few times, even with some of the examples from this post, but I felt like I was beating my head against the wall and wanted to know if I should punish myself some more...
Thanks again..
Thanks again..

I would go ahead and get a run to droks. You will need it later so why not now. It might help but it might not. IMO that is the best thing to do but it might not be yours.

just take a fast recharge item and one damaging skill the doppleganger will not cast as fast as you and you will end up killing hiom just before he kills u do not take any healing just one attack spell with a fast recharge in that attribute
