hey everybody, this build is mostly for random arenas and team arenas, wouldnt be the greatest for real organized battle.

Necro/mes
Curses:
Blood:
Soul Reaping:
Domination Magic:

Vamp Gaze
Mark of Subversion
Feast of Corruption [e]
Parasitic Bond
Arcane Echo
Energy Burn
Backfire
Rez Sig

I know its energy heavy, but i dont really spam anything so whatever. Soul reaping gives the occasionaly joly wich is fine.

i usually backfire someone, usually an ele or monk. eles are nice targets because i find that they are more likely to try to cast through it, thus taking the 100+ damage. after spamming parasitic for awhile, i echo FoC or vamp and do some damage. Energy burn is nice for low targets im about to spike, and mark of subversion is for monks.

i find i am often just standing there, wanding people. im thinking or dropping something and picking up dark pact for some quick damage. dunno though.

thanks for any and all tips

peace

seriously, look at all the 2+ second casting time spells: this build is not a N/Me build; it's a Me/N build. This means you swap out Mark of Subversion for Shame (which provides energy) and probably swap out Feast of Corruption for Life Transfer and swap out Parasitic Bond for Shadow Strike, and take out echo for an interrupt, making you a reasonably effective Blood/Domination single-target caster-hater.

If you're set on being a necro primary, then you want to go heavier on the curses and dump Domination and the skills that use it. You're looking to maximise the hurt of Feast of Corruption, and that means hexes primary.

Get Suffering, so you can get some decent area effect curses for FoC to work on. Maybe you'd go for Illusion so you can get ethereal burden + distortion; otherwise, get inspired hex, which will provide you with some energy management (echos are expensive) plus you might pick up a hex that you can use since you have blood + curses. Heck, if you're lucky, someone will life transfer you and you can happily use it.

I'd also get vampiric gaze or something that can heal you (life siphon's nice, , and faintheartedness and/or shadow of fear because warrior types are most likely to bunch up and make good targets for you. So, stack some hexes on them so they don't demolish whoever they're targeting before you can FoC them.

So, that works out as:
Curses: 12+4
Blood: 10+1
Inspiration and soul reaping: whatever's left over.

Feast of Corruption
Suffering
Shadow Of Fear
Faintheartedness
Vampiric Gaze
Echo
Inspired Hex
Rez signet

good comments, thanks.

might as well just make a FoC spike build then. i was trying to be a little different, and have found backfire to be so damn effective in random arenas.

i just discovered the idea of a mesmer ingerupt, and went out and capped power block. i like it, but i didnt realize that so many things werent spells. whatever.

thanks for the feed back, and will look into making a mes primary to help out my speed. inspiration also looks nice.

Well, if you want to stop non-spell skills, use cry of frustration, diversion or leech signet (which will at least interrupt, even if it doesn't trigger the energy gain). Just be sure to have at least 5 Fast Casting or Diversion will be ridiculously slow to get off.
