Running... no more?
cims
Of course you can ran at lower level areas, but in the snow regen, i CANNOT do any successfull runs, I have tried for hours to get to the war camp but to many mobs and they pound you, I can get to grenths footprin. I gave up and went to go try to run to copperhead mines, again, i tried about 10 times and know the path, but there are to many slowing spells, i even saw this one spell used on me that i could tell they made it up to stop runners. Is running no more in this area? I dont see to many wars offering runs anymore and I think i found out why.

I ran my ranger and my monk to war camp solo....you should keep in mind that warriors are not always the best runners.

I've got a R/W that's an accomplished runner. Granted, he wouldn't survive the trip from Becon's to Drok's, but I can run anywhere else I've ever wanted to go.

I can assure you that it is possible... i pay to get ran anywhere, just because i'm lazy and like to go afk while i get to places... heh.
Anyhow, the only place i couldn't find a good runner for, was to get from war camp to copperhammer mines... but then i just took my lvl 10 necromancer with no armor, and i fought my way there reasonably quick (about half way there i died, and for some reason it brought me to the spawn point right next to it)...
Just for a note:: press ctr + shift + spacebar, reasonably close to enemies, but not in aggro range, and the henchies will run after them and take aggro.

I like that ANet mixes stuff up and keeps us on our toes. It keeps the game from getting boring. And as players come up with clever ideas to circumvent obstacles, ANet keeps the content challenging.

I solo ran my Ranger/Mesmer to Deldrimor with no problems at all. As stated above you just need to use your brain to think about the build.

I ran to Grenth's footprint with a lvl 14 ranger/necro using henchies...took a loooooooong time. I was tired of not getting picked for thirsty river mission because of my low level, so i set out to farm (three green drops later, and i paid ....that's right, PAID a group to let me join...often the last to die and res the rest). You can get there if you have the skills set....throw dirt, dust trap, whirling defense, storm chaser were all I had....60% dp and a bit of fighting paid off...1hr, 47min....Had I the choice....I'd go with a runner.

<TIPS for Running Beacons to WarCamp, as told by a Warrior Monk>
I've ran myself to War Camp when I was level 19, down through snakes from beacons <long arse run, I'll tell ya>. Think of builds, for mine I pumping healing and tactics, the rest in my weaponry incase I had to fight something. For tactics; dare I say use stances that block damage like bonetti's and balanced stance so you can't get knocked down, ontop of that, put in mending for a 3 pip regen rate, healing breeze, healing sig, endure pain, and sprint. It's all you really need, if you know how to work your aggro bubble well and wait for patrol patterns so you can exploit when they all huddle up and run around them.

Says it all. Use your brain! It ain't hard, It won't smoke out. Just think things through for the area <which skills would be best, etc.> But anyway you look at it, the Run is still very long..and one I'm thankful I'll never have to do again unless I go sig cappin.

Running in the shiverpeaks (southern) usually takes two runners, or the runner gets the other ppl (passengers) to run ahead and take the hits. I cant run solo to war camp, but can if my passengers, go first and take the first wave of hexes.
Former Ruling
I always wondered why Pinesouls are so insistent on setting Muddy Terrian all the time, and their always grouped with Ice Imps.
I wanted to go from Iron Mines to Copperhammer and there were no smart runners (all were lame and died fast, or wanted several thousand gold).
So I just got Henchies and went out and cleared the entire Frozen Forest myself in about an hour. I got mad though..The Monk boss that gives Mark of Protection didn't Spawn :\ (I'm R/Mo ATM, because I got most Ele skills). I never died once, and Lina only died once cause she was swamped.
I found out you can fight 2-3 groups of enemies there if you pick the order of attack right. It always goes: Kill All Avicari first, then Ice Imps if their there, then Stone Summit stuff (Gnashers and Heretics), then whatevers left like Pine Souls and Ice Golems/etc. If I killed all the Avicari and Ice Imps (and stone summit Gnashers and Heretics) first and fast enough - the rest of the group would never really overpower any of my guys.
I swear - the people that pay to get run through the Shiverpeaks are just lazy or not smart. I have every town and outpost in the shiverpeaks on my map - and I only got run to 1 of the places, and I could get there by myself - but someone was offering free runs to Marhan's Grotto (from Iron Mines), and I ALWAYS join free run groups Thats how I got to Droknar's way back in Beacon's Perch.
