It will probably cost as much or a bit less than the original Guild Wars game.

This does raise a question I've had:
Will Chapter 2 be it's own world (aka basically a new game) or will it simply expand this one (aka simply an expansion).
I know that it's been said that the story of Tyria will be continued in Chapter 2 but that does not automatically mean it will function as a mere expansion. Will acess be two way? That is to say that if I own both could I travel from the lands of Chapter 1 into the lands of Chapter 2 in-game? Or will it be more of an 'across the mighty ocean lies an unexplored land' deal where can't actually intermengle the two Chapters so simply.
In answer to the question posed however... my thinking would be that if Chapter 2 requires Chapter 1 then the cost will reflect that ($20-$30) if Chapter 2 does not require it and is it's own independent world OR Chapter 2 also contains the full Chapter 1 content then I'd quess full game price ($50-$60). Then again that is only an educated guess, perhaps someone who pays more attention to the community and the insane ramblings of the Frog can speak more to the reality of the situation.

I guess you just install it on your pc and you can just start guildwars up and when you press M your map is like 5 times bigger. It will not be a new game i think

is there a planned release date for ch.2?

They already mentioned that Expansions will be free for guild wars; where were people when this happened? Obviously they had their heads under the sand like ostriches. =)
Anyways, I want me a Chapter 2. I Want more exploration! I want, I want. You know. Thats all I hear. It'll come out when it's well and ready. Until then, content yourselves on finishing the regular game and doing whatever else you like to do, from Farming to PVP.

Expansions have been free viz. Sorrow's Furnace, but Chapter 2 might be concidered more a sequel or, as the name suggests a new "chapter" rather than just a new area, so it very likely might require purchase, and rightfully so and I am happy to do so.
Yichi
Sorrows Furnace was just an update, was never listed as an expansion. Chapter 2 will be another part to the game, just like any other expansion for any game that has come out.

The 'chapter 2' is going to cost around £30 (not free) and I think that it will probably be like a whole new world, like the entire map of the original game, I think this because there has to be something that makes it worth £30. At least that is wot i think

Guild Wars is priced at a comparable cost to other first-tier PC games. The subsequent chapters of Guild Wars will be comparably priced in relation to other games. |
the amount of accessability between chapter 1 and 2 (according to pm) is not finalized yet but there will be at the very least places where they can mingle

I thougth it will be the same price as gw chapter 1 and it comes in march 2006

The only date/time currently given is 1st half 2006, which means anytime between Jan 1/06 and Jun 30/06.

Alex Weekes said very firmly it would NOT be on or very close to Jan. first
Gaile Gray said it would not be a end of time period cliffhanger like SF which was within a few weekes of running over into fall.
going by that i think we can narrow it down to between feb1 06 and may15 -may 31 06
