Re-edit inserting idea:
Since the one that had the idea, out of the triple post, was deleted:
Basically, there needs to be a way for you to store atleast 1 pet somewhere in the game. I'll set up the situation that drew me to this conclusion:
I have a wolf. I've had that wolf since Pre. I just recently seared my Ranger, who is actually quite old. I couldnt bring myself to sear that character for awhile. Now, I get to Master Ranger Nente near the Balthazar Statue in what was Green Hills. He gives me a mission that gives various skills I already have + Hunter's Shot which I dont. The mission however requires me to charm a Stalker. So in other words, I have to give up my level 10 wolf, who I love, and charm a stalker to get a skill? What the hell?
Another reason behind this: My guildmate has a Stalker, and he will not part with that pet for anything. But he is also very interested in training a Dune Lizard. However, with no means of keeping one pet and still training another, there's no way for him to even try it without creating an entirely new character with a Ranger class or by changing a character's secondary of one he already has. The fact that one has to choose between the pet they have and a new one simply to test which pet they like better, is silly.
If I have a level 20 pet, and I'm curious about a different pet and what they are capable of, why do I have to lose my level 20 pet, and start over with a pet of the same type at level 5, if I find out that the new animal wasnt what I wanted?
Pet Storage

If you post a thread without content, it's only normal for it to be closed. And before we turn this into a flame war, yes I saw you remedied it. Now everyone is happy. The idea is pretty good btw, but how would it work exactly? Like a kennel in every town where you deposit pets? Next to storage...
Something like that.
It'd have to be a vendor, and to stop abuse of the priviledge, you should be charged every time you put a new pet in, in an increasing ammount.
We dont want GW to turn into Pokemon.
So like this: First Pet put in: 100 Gold
Second Pet: 200
Thrid: 300
and so on. And your pet is registered with them under your account so it doesnt charge you twice for the same pet. If at all possible though, I'd rather it only let you store one pet at a time, limiting you to 1 main one and one you're storing.
Also, as for posting without content. You would have read, had you bothered, that this was posted 3 times due to Forum Lag. And the one of the 3 posts that actually had the idea un-edited out, got deleted because the mod was blind apparently.

I prefer that version, limit of 2 pets in the "kennel". Not tradable or anything, and not movable between characters..

Make the "Charm Animal" into a signet, one use, like a SoC. Once used it it linked to that pet; on the skill bar it acts as the current charm animal does, takes space. Add in extra chances to get a Charm signet from a quest, allowing you to swap your pets around.
There are times when I want a tanking pet, so I would want my hearty evolution pet, other times when I want damage and would select a Dire evolution. If I have the flexibility of gear and attibute manipulation, why not be able to take the pet that suits the job? This would mean that in the early game you had to decide which pet you wanted to take, but later you could get another "slot" essentially, by earning another signet. If you had at least 3 earnable one could have a Dire, Elder and Hearty pet so that you actually have a choice.

Actually, many beast masters want a Pet Storage. The space should be at least 3 because there are 3 types of Evolutions: Dire, Hearty, Elder.
The beast masters need to spend time to capture the pet and train it but I think they should be able to keep them instead of re-training them all the time.
I would love to have at least 3 spaces for my pet(s). Hearty for PvE, Dire/Elder for PvP.
And sometimes you just feel like using a Moa Bird or a Pig.
And other times you feel like taking out your good ole Bear. What's wrong with this?

2nd - seems fair that a pet can be saved/daycared while you try out another. Imo max should be 1 in storage and 1 current playing... if possible to storage more I agree with wolver1ne:
"Allow more than one, people will still would whine for more and more."

something i've wanted a long time. I play UO and love having many pets on there. A pure beastmaster uses his pet as his weapon. If you can't have a slash pet AND a pierce bet AND a blunt pet, why allow someone to store more than one weapon? Not only that, but a weapon user can switch in the middle of battle. No one is asking to be able to switch pet in the middle of battle. Oh and on the argument that your pet is your companion... in that case why allow us to trade the things in for new ones in the first place?
Definately make it a pay-to-store thing though.

I have an Elder Warthog now. I don't even know for sure if it really does "blunt" damage. I mean it "sounds" like it but nobody has actually tested it. The same thing with Moa Bird's "piercing" damage. I changed from moa bird to warthog simply because I thought piercing damage can be resisted by skill like Shield Up. If that's the case, then moa bird and lizard are definitely inferior. Not that it really matters...
It will still be nice to find out all the details about pets. I know those details are really not THAT different but it's fun to discover something out of nothing. The truth is any pet with any evolution would work. LOL
Poor rangers... give us more variety of pets please. There is no way that a bird can do the same damage as a bear.

A) Hunter's Shot is not that fantastic
B) You can just buy it at Yak's later
Not a big deal.

I'm sorry, but I really don't see development being done for a "pet kennel" just so a few people can do "experiments" when there's nothing to experiment with in the first place!
