OK, I know the little girl says it's on the other side of the river, but according to my quest marker, she's my destination. What's up with that? Where is the flute she's looking for? This one has been driving me nuts for the past few hours.
Presearing quest.... just outside of Ascalon
Finding the Flute

Now the little girl wants to follow me around forever.
Did I miss something? I got her Flute back and gave her flowers and pretty much everything she's asked for. Is there a point to being shadowed by this girl? Can't I just kill her and then create a bone horror from her corpse or something? It's getting a wee bit annoying.

She just wants flowers?
OK...
Well, I'll keep her around so long as she doesn't get in my way. I'm just trying to gain as many skills as possible before leaving Presearing. I now have the first 8 Necro Skills (they all trump my Mesmer skills).
N E Rate...
What's the purpose of the Shred of Tapistry? Will it benefit a N/Me?
(*PS: At least I'm not alone in wanting to destroy Gwen. Although, I'm not sure I'd want a bone horror from her corpse following me. The fact that even a part of what was her still following me would be annoying.)

Beld,
The broken flute you find in post now says it's a quest item??? I have one that I kept from long ago, but it does not say 'Quest Item' on it anywhere. Are you sure yours does?
In regards to the Tapestry Shred, I believe that it serves no purpose at this time, but may eventually hold some significance. (Chapter 2, maybe?) I have saved one from each of my characters. (They stack, so it only takes up one inventory slot if you stash them all in your storage.) You can't get more than one from Gwen per character, so I'm reluctant to toss them out until I learn what the Tapestry Shred is intended for.

Hmm....
I usually sell stuff I can't use.. but this mystery tapistry seems intreaguing. Huh.... we'll see.
BTW... I have teh belt pack, but are there larger (or more) storage items I can get? If I'm going to keep this tapistry, I don't want it using valueable realestate in my inventory. (kinda want to make sure I have room for anything else I'll need)
And I hope anyone else who may know what the tapistry is for could please provide some insight.

Well said my man, i got Gwen a cape just to see what happens.... nothing like everything else, except she follows you with a red cape on (Gwen is now in a Guild).
Unless something will change eventually in Post, I will have to see.
No known purpose for the tapestry or the broken flute you find in post-sear.
If Gwen annoys you just click on her and she'll wait there for you and quit following.
I quit giving her the flowers after the first worthless tapestry and sell them for 5 gold each.
Once you get to post-sear Ascalon you can buy 2 bags of 5 slots each for 100 gold. Then you can buy a rune of holding (?) to double them for 500 gold each. You also get an account storage that is accessible by all characters in the account in each town. It still won't be enough storage space though!

It's a quest that has yet to have an ending (not in chapter 1) but can only start in pre.
Before you leave pre make sure she has a new flute, buy her the small red cape, and giver her flowers until she gives you Tapstery Shard and do not get rid of these items.
You will get some more item that belonged to her in post that you want to collect in your journey's. A) Gwen's Broken Flute, B) Tattered girls Cape. You could end up meeting her mother way latter in post too.

it's a broken quest, that i believe involves the tapestry, the broken flute in post searing outside the sanatarium, and the tattered girls cape, in the beach area outside of santcum somewhere, her mom if ya haven't noticed is in the underworld, Sarah is her name, but there's nothing to do these items as of yet.

I agree with you it probable started as a broken quest but since so many people are attached to gwen, so much mystery behind it Anet is doing something with it in Chapter 2. (evolved beyond a broken quest). I think it was mentioned as a cryptic hint from interview that Chapeter 2 will see something from gwen in it.
