A LOT of die hard fans have bought another account.
I did so too recently.
Oh the horror when I realized that you couldn't add your new account key to an existing account and thereby upgrading it to 8 slots.
No no, I had to make a new account, and thus need to unlock all skills/runes AGAIN.

I contacted customer support about it, asking if they had any plan concerning this issue. They told me to make a suggestion in a community forum somewhere. And here I am.

So the features I need is the following:

1. The ability to add a new guild wars key to an existing account, thus upgrading the maximum number of character slots to the double amount.
2. All the people who have already created two accounts should be given an option to merge their two accounts.

I don't really care how this is implemented, not my problem, as long as it works.

Ps. I totally understand why there must be a limit to the amount of characters. I just don't understand why you can't increase that limit when you pay for it.

I've been saying the same thing for a long time, as have many. My favourite idea was releasing some kind of character slot upgrade card. Buy one for £5/£10 or whatever, enter the number that comes with it, BANG, two or three extra character slots. Buy as many as you want. ANet makes some money, we are more inclined to spend some money (there's no way I'm paying for another full game just to get extra character slots, as I've got much better things to be spending my money on, but a cheap card like that would be on my game within minutes), everybody's happy.

Wouldn't it be a lot easier if ANet just changed that 'lil bit of code from a 4 to like 6 or something? I mean I only have two characters, I've pretty much done everything with one and I'm still gaming with the other. I'll most probably be making another soon but I'm not exactly begging for more space however I know there are those that really don't want to delete a character to make space for a new one...

Agree... I havent bought an extra account... If all my chars cant share unlocks and a storage... then its kinda useless
If Anet fixed this (-bug imo) - Im buying another extra account as well...*I mean - expanding my current account

a extra issue that presures this, is the lack of a real trading place... cuz the trade-tab in the chat is redicolous... and everyone knows it
So ppl get stuck with items = lack of inventory...
Just get us a auction-house (couldnt come up with anything less WoW' ish - sry) something like that...

...and place a Wurm west/south of Augury Rock. I thought the intentions with GW was SKILLS... and not hours spend farming and selling in the crappy trade-tab

I imagine character slots will be expanded with the new add-on, it does seem strange to have only 4 slots meaning you can't have a primary character from each class without deleting hours of work.

/signed - its all about value for money, if you already have the game and buy it again so you can have 4 more character slots, because you already had it you should be able to add it to your existing account.

that would put the person who COULD NOT AFFORD to buy the second (or 3rd or 4th) account at a disadvantage

Lousy reason. No disadvantage - more characters is in no way "better". It doesn't skew their ability in PvP or PvE, and in fact will make for less storage space unless the Xunlai agents get boosted size, so they actually lose out on storage space by merging the two accounts they paid for. They also lose the ability to run one account with the other and various other things. They do get to share the unlocks, but they've already unlocked them, so it's not an advantage.

I would not want it to be automatic as I have 2 accounts that I share with my son. If adding a key always meant 1 account with 4 more slots then we could not play at the same time.

So good idea, but keep it optional.

DeanBB - yeah - option being the keyword - get a new key and choose to make a new account or add it to a excisting and merging the two

i didnt realize that when i bought my second account i didnt get the unlocks... kind of dissappointed

signed without a doubt. I bought a 2nd one knowing it would be a fresh account, but it would be nice. UO allows the purchase of a 6th char slot, so it can't be that hard to implement such a system in.

Add me to the list please. I didn't buy a second box because I didn't want to unlock everything from scratch again. I would assuredly buy a special edition if I could merge the extra slots + extra goodies to my main account.

I would l;ove to have extra caracters even if i have to pay for them, but i don't have 2 computers so even if i wanted to use my other chars to help lvl the new ones i can't, or give them items and what not.

I posted a simular thing like this on another forum I said be able to purchase extra character slots for 5$ a piece not only will it allow them to make money it also makes people happier. A win/win situation is always nice.
