I am running a 2 gig intel cpu on a asus p4s533-x mb. I have a 512 meg strip of pc-2700 ddr ram.A 128 nvidia graphics card.I bought another strip of the same ram but for some reason the game locks up if both are installed. The two strips work fine in either slot if by them selves but not together.I suspect it may be a problem with directx being installed before the second strip of ram.Any help greatly accepted.

I have a feeling you think you bought the same RAM, but it isn't.

Look at the sticker on both peices, make sure both say 2700 on them, you could have easily bought a 3200 by accident. You can't really mix and match these sticks and expect a stable computer.

Both say 2700 on them so thays not it unless there are different kinds of 2700.Note both are samsung ram, also reguler programs run and the register says 1024 ram present its just on this game and ao i have this problem.

2700 might just be too slow to run. Someone else in one of these threads is running 2700 as well and has problems.

*Edit*
Bunny4TW. Thanks man, didn't bother looking it up. (Laziness factor.)

You may be running them in dual channel mode. Try taking it out of dual channel (put one of the sticks in a different slot) and give it a shot.

My mb only has 2 slots for ram and not sure what you mean by dual channel mode lol.

No, this mobo cannot support 3200. It can only go up to 2700 (http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/sock...x/overview.htm).

Is slot 2 bad? You could try running one in slot 2 only and see what happens. Oh, and make sure you're placing the DDR in the DDR sockets and not forcing the DDR into the SDR sockets.

Both strips work in either slot. The good news is i switched back to XP Pro,and the game works very well with 512 ram.I am beginning to suspect the mb may be the culprit heh so a new one is on the way. Thanks all who tried to help.
