HoH academy?

Ok we've all seen the running academies, the farming academies, etc. But how about an acamdey for HoH? I think that'd be a really good idea. There could even be an offshoot of that- a GvG academy.

I've been wanting to get into more PvP, but the only places I stand a chance at all is in CA or RA. HoH seems to be out of my grasp and my guild just can't seem to get off the ground in terms of GvG.

Mind you, I would hope the academy would teach more than just IWAY builds, Ranger spike builds, etc. Agreeably, it's hard to teach a person how to think of new builds, but you can give them ideas.

I'm not 100% sure on how to implement it, but if I put some more thought into it it'd be very possible I think.

Any comments?

by academy, do you mean lessons on hoh and gvg? because i have actually been offering these services for a while through private message requests from anyone that asks for help. i usually do it on an individual basis in-game and on vent. i have refrained from making one end-all post about this because there is just so much to it that needs to be taught and not simply read. i might set up a time for anyone who is new to the game or just starting to pvp to hop on vent and there can be group lessons. let me know if this is what you wanted and if you think you would be interested. it would definetely have to be in at least a week because finals are going on right now for me and i really cant find much time to get on. after next wednesday though, i would love to help.

Yeah that's pretty much what I meant. I would be interested. Take your time, too, I understand the problems with finals and all. I'll give you a PM in game. Thanks!

Yeah that might help solve the rank issues cos newer guys could take some lessons and then be more confident of getting into parties and hopefully they will gradually get better.

i would definitely be interested in something like this as well. i'm just starting to tomb now, and i would much rather not have to farm fame through iway before getting the chance to be in a decent group.

I just started getting into PvP recently (read: post last night's update screwing over PvE) and it's difficult to get into a group, especially with no fame.

Even IWAY groups are demanding rank 3+ only. My guild doesn't HoH, neither do any of my friends. It's impossible for me to get into Tombing.

Surely would be nice... give those people who graduate the HoH academy some kind of effect to show people, then things will get smoother.

This is unrealistic. Ranked people would not start taking unranked people just because they went through an HoH academy.

They may have confidence in themselves after going through that, but the parties they are trying to get into wouldn't have any confidence in them.

I can understand why this idea would be suggested, but really it wouldn't change anything.

Despite an Academy's best offerings, the only way to really know how to play HoH properly would still be "trial by fire" by actually doing it. Which nets rank.

@The poster who said even IWAY needs R3 now: that's actually a good thing for you, because when Tombs was way more active over the past months, the IWAY standard was usually R6+.

I was thinking along the lines of a walk thru like Master Togo does on the starter island, but for HOH noobs. Walk me thru all the hoh maps and teach me the basics before sending me out on my own.

Another thought I had was to open the HOH maps for 4v4 random arena and let the random arena fighting progress the same way that HOH does. I always thought that Random Arena was sort of a testing area anyways for noobs to get better at pvp and for people to test builds. Doesnt it make sense to let the noobs play on the HOH maps so they learn them while increasing their pvp skills? Sort of like an HOH Random Arena where you can earn glad points and balth faction like in regular random arena.

Edit: Maybe have the Glad points only apply to HOH Random Arena and not regular Random arena, or have a separate title for HOH Random Arena. I think it helps to have some sort of title to show off that shows you have adequate knowledge of the HOH maps and game play. That glad title in Random Arena is great and all, but it means nothing if your working towards HOH imo.

Just keep it english or danish.

I know how to PvP. I know how to play my class. I play RA all of the time because it's easy to get into.

What I don't have is a team of experienced players that I can play with, or will adopt me and raise me to their own skill level (or better) if I am lacking and do not know it. So far all I can think of is to try guild hopping until I find a guild that has it together instead of everyone bumbling around, 3 people shouting they want to try different HoH builds, and 5 people saying they don't have the skills to run it (to say nothing of knowing how to play the build even if they do have the skills).
