I recently tried out a two weapon set in pvp.
They went something like this:
1)air wand +15 energy, -1 regen (no mods)
storm artifact +15 energy, -1 regen
2)air wand +20% recharge (no mods)
storm artifact +20% recharge, +20% casting time
When i run out of energy using the (1) set, I switched to the (2), and found myself staring at 0>>>> for a long time...
Apparently I had negative energy...Is this so that i can't exploit the two weapons sets? I dont understand how (if it is to stop the exploit) the makers will allow me to have negative energy?
Could someone answer/help me with my dilema?
Two weapon sets=negative energy meter

Let's put it this way. Say you have 0 base energy, then you equip a +10EN item.. You'll have 10 energy to use. If you use that energy, you now have 0 energy. When you unequip that item back to your original, it subtracts the 10 bonus energy, leaving you with -10 energy.
So, the extra energy is there to help you in a fix, but if you're going to switch out after you use it for the energy, then you've not made much difference at all.

You're making a fundamental mistake...given your two weapon set, start the PvP battle with the 2nd weapon set first, if you find yourself out of energy and in need, switch over to the 1st weapon set and you'll have the extra energy you're looking for...keep in mind that if you end up using the energy pool of your 1st set up and you switch back to the 2nd set you'll be at 0 Energy for some time (because it's regen' the negative energy). Consider Laserth's post above for that explanation. Also keep in mind, hidden energy cannot be stolen or drained by enemy energy draining spells or skills.

Think of the +15 energy/-1 regen mods as an advance on your energy. Regen is going to be more important than max energy in almost every situation, and excess energy sitting in your mana pull isnt doing anything for you until you actually come to use it; so keep the 4 arrows of regen as much as possible. Should you find yourself at the 0 end of the bar, and in an emergency, switch to your other set, get an advance on those 30 energy points, and bail yourself out, then switch back again to your 4 regen.
I always think it's a psychological thing, you cant see the extra 30 energy when on your normal weapon set, but in a sense it is always there, you only need to switch to the +30 set for the brief moment when you need to use it; most people just don't get this right away.
