Purple Item No Big Deal
Skult
So I found my first purple item and I don't see why it would be classified purple.
It is a Healing Ankh +9 Energy +4 Armor while casting. Now I am using a light blue Inscribed Charam +6 Energy +10 Energy (no conditions) - 1 enery regen.
So can someone explain why the Purple Healing Ankh is better the my light blue Chakram to meet Purple Status?

Dont take this as scripture, but from what I've seen, Purple items are more like a 'chance' item. Sometimes they dont even have a thing on them, sometimes you will get an insanely nice item. I yesterday found a max damage sword, elemental, with +damage%, +armor and +energy. Best thing I've yet to see in game yet.
Then again, i've also found a purple item that was 'charslaying' so...

I found a very poor item, but then i IDed it using the ID kit and it was a health rune.
I then had to use the Expert Salvage Kit to get the rune.

I don't consider the colors to mean anything. I've seen blues better than some yellows. Sell it to a newb. OMG LOOK AT THE PRETTY PURPLE COLOR

haha.. I got me a nice hammer a while back, 11-17 and +25 against charr. Something I'm going to keep throughout the whole game when I decide to go back to Ascalon, or if the story comes to a conclusion, maybe tying everything up together. *no spoilers please*

Don't remember really but think it's from Pikens Square.
"War hammer of Foritude"
Blunt dmg 11-17 (req. 3 hammer mastery)
Health +20
Dmg +25 (vs. Charr)
Two-handed
Lots of the quests and collectors dont list the modifiers some of the rewards comes with so what may look like a rather boring "250exp + War hammer 11-17" or "5 Giant Jawbones for a 11-22 (chaos dmg) +10E staff" can actually be really nice... (skill recharge 20%, casting time 20%)

-1 energy regen is a big negative on an item. Remember, the regen rates between an elementalist and a warrior is only 2 pips.

Thats why you swap weapon-set as you reach 0.
And with a +x E on hit some fast hitting weapons (specially with speed buffs) can give you more energy than 1 pip would.
For casters the -1E regen usually comes with +10E, well worth it to frontload an attack with an extra 10E skill, change to a normal weapon after you reach 5-0 ( yea you will go into negative E for a while but... )
Think about it.
