I just did the mission where I tamed a Stalker, but now I want to get one of the wolves that hang out in Lakeside County. Is there a way to abandon my pet? I don't mean leaving him behind by not equipping Charm Animal; I mean abandoning him entirely so I can get a new one.
Thanks,
AC

Look for a man by the name of Jarel(sp?) the Tamer outside the gates of Seared Ascalon City; he'll take your pet off your hands for no fee whatsoever. If you're still in Pre-Searing (which you are since you're still in Lakeside County), he will be right by Master Ranger Nente, so just talk to him there.
And no, you can not use Charm Animal if you already have a pet, so I wouldn't even try it.

Yeah, I knew I could only tame one at a time so I didn't bother.
Thanks for the help!

In pre-seared Ascalon, Jarrel the Tamer is right next to Master Nente (The who gives you the quest to tame the stalker). Talk to him he'll take the pet.

Where in the Searing is a place to charm pets? I have yet to see anything of any value. I have a lvl 9 stalker now...

Be prepared to lose whatever you tame after the searing. One of the quests to get more ranger skills requires a stalker, so if you don't have one you'll have to find one to tame (unless you're keen on spending skill points to buy the skill from a trainer). The quest gives you Hunter's Shot, as well as skills from pre-searing in case you missed them. I got a wolf before the searing . . Spike was such a good boy . . but I had to give him away. Now I have a lvl 5 stalker.
