Iron Mines - Alot of fuss over nothing

Iron Mines is getting to be as frustrating as other popularly complained about missions..

First of all..99% of the groups formed are for infusion runs.

and the other half of the time people fight over things, and quit for silly reasons like skill capping.

But Since I actually got through the mission (Infusion+mission in 1 go) it...is nothing..

Basically half the map is for Skill capping and the bonus.

All we did is Run (with run skills) to the Seer (even the rangers and such made it go me) - do the little infusion for some members of the party - then walk outside. Markis is like..2 steps and a hop from the infusion place..Mission over in like 10 minutes.

Only bad thing...I FORGOT THE SIGNET OF CAPTURE...So I'll have to come back later and pick Barrage up..

But basically this thread is about why is all the fuss being made for Pure infusion runs, and such. I can understand skill cap only runs since alot of those bosses are hella out of the way - but finishing the mission takes like 5 extra minutes if you are already at the seer..

Grr..mostly a vent over spending 2 days on a mission that was beat in 10 minutes.

Iron mines is one of my favourite runs, long but really fast and easy.

Alot of people want infuse runs because they've just bought a new set of armour, or even just a new helm or whatever, and however easy the end of the mission is; it takes more effort to do it than to not do it!
That's my new life motto in fact

Also, my ranger really wanted barrage, so I henchied up and did the whole mission up to markis with these useless hench. I got the skill but then died with the last Jade at 1/4 health lol. I didn't care cause I got my barrage. Yay!

But you might as well form a group for doing infusion-only, if that's what you need, thereby reducing the chances of leavers who claim at first they "need infusion but will help with mission." I've done infusion runs a couple of times when I got new armor. No one has asked to be paid, we just all agreed we needed to do it and did it, painless and quick.

Oh, and it was the Necro/War in our group that actually made it to the Seer first! Yay for her!

And of course I stick around, because it's just an extra 5 minutes and I'm too nice to bail. Still, it's annoying. If you need to do the mission, join a mission group.

THATS why most people find it semi-hard with henchies.

I did it with 2 groups but they left and tried it with henchies no luck and waited about an hour to get a group together but no luck there to.This is why I hate missions and prefer good ole quest any day.

After the big fight at the beginning with the dwarves and mantle running around, follow the river *under* the bridge to get to the seer. You never need to fight all the jades and mursaat up the hill from the river.

You should be able to fight just one group of giants at a time if you are patient.

When you get to another bridge that has a branch off of it leading to a little fort, go straight and not into the fort.

I think other than that it is a straight-forward path to the seer.

After you are infused, head north to get to where Markis is. There are 2 groups of 3 in the fort + Markis. Fight one group at a time, always taking out the mursaat first. When you go to fight Markis, approach from one side and fight the 2 jades first. Then the other 2.

Easily done with just henchies as the number of jade/mursaat enemies is minimized.

It's a pitty that more people don't want to skill cap in it though... all very well for the rangers who get to cap at the end of the mission, but anything slightly off-course to the mission is seemingly not done, and henchies.. well... mursat + hench = disaster.

Yeah. Wish I could see the map right now... wish I was at home playing... Anyway, I'll give it a shot.

After you kill the boss in the valley with the siege machines, you run by and hear cries for HELP from above. That's the guy who gives the bonus.

You go all the way around the map, past Markis' area etc, clear out everything around the bonus giver before speaking to him. Then head back the way you came with one person holding near the bonus guy until you get into position. It's like Reversing the Skales quest a little bit - if you don't kill the dude he'll get away and bonus is gone. Fairly easy if you have already cleared everything else out and you have a decent group.

I want Oath Shot from the jade bow boss, but whenever I ask for a skill capping party, they'll ask if I'm after Barrage. I say no I've already got it I want Oath Shot from a Musaat and I get accused of leaving after I've got the skill and not completed the mission..

I'm like... wtf?

And I can't do it with henchies... Abaddon's Mouth and Ring of Fire is also where Oath Shot can be found... but Iron Mines os soo much easier... if I could get a team.

I bought armor a couple of weeks ago and a bunch of scalps plus I had my pumpkin crowns and we on infusion runs with henches then a friend joined in.
I kept seeing the same people over and over shouting out that they need a gorup to infuse.

I've done this mission solo without henchmen...no running involved. That should tell you its degree of difficulty.

Infused = protects you from the Mursaat spell "Spectral Agony", which is devastating if you aren't infused. You get infusion from the seer in the mission - it modifies each piece your armor to protect you against it.

I'm like... wtf? Agreed. I got sick of trying to get a skill cap group for Oath Shot so I capped it in Ring of Fire instead. Problem solved.

I am having the hardest time finding a bonus group, though...

The boss with Oath Shot can spawn in that first "fort" area just across the first bridge and I think that's where I cap'd it. I can usually make it at least that far with just henchies. After the fight with the mantle, watch the wandering jades and mursaat at the top of the hill and you can slip by them and get across the bridge.

By the way, has anyone tried to kill Markis when he's crossing that bridge in the beginning? I was getting some new necro armor infused and paused there and launched a blood spell at him but it seemed he was out of range, yet I was able to kill the mantle warrior that was following him.

It appears that the henchies are infused when you get infused. After that, if they die, they lose the infusion.

This can make doing the bonus with henchies a bit difficult, especially if you are solo. If you're in a group of several humans and there's henchies to fill out the party, it can be done.
