Which gear is better?

Ascalon gear or upgraded ringmail? For example, Ascalon Gauntlets vs. Ringmail Gauntlets.

Ascalon Gauntlets
Armor: 35
Reduces damage from attack
Armor + 10 (from physical attacks)

Ringmail Gauntlets
Armor: 50
Amor + 20 (from physical attacks)

So the ringmail has better armor rating but the ascalon has reduce dmg. Which one is better for a W/Mo? Armor defense over damage reduce, or damage reduce over armor defense?

I read somewhere on here yesterday that the damage reduction from the Ascalon armour is applied regardless of where you are hit, but it does not stack if you have mulitiple pieces of it.

so if you get ascalon boots and the ringmail for everything else you'll the damage reduction no matter where you are hit and the weak armour only on your feet.

Does Ascalon equipment just look better to some people? I always thought ringmail was actually stronger, yet cheaper in supplies.

It's damage reduce. Say you take 10 dmg but since the armor has that, you only take 8 dmg maybe.

.
Armor AL and resists are based on where you are hit. Your chest has the highest chance to be hit. So "reduces damage" would be true for the item that is hit. Switching back and forth between asc armor and my chain, it's somwhere around 2 damage reduced.
