3/4 Characters DELETED!

When i got home i tried to log into GW and it didn't recognize my password so i got a new one. When i was finally able to get one. 3 out of 4 Characters were DELETED! The one Char remaining has all of his pts but he's naked! I didnt download anything and i follow the EULA to the letter! Is there any hope for me? Can Anet do anything? I feel sick.

Ok most of my stuff in storage is gone.. money everything... except for some junk i had stashed. and i stillhave my main weapons but other than that i'm naked as a jaybird! This makes me so frustrated. I know it's just a game.. and i can start over but.. i was this close to getting my 4th char ascended...sigh....

change your password and email.

The usual.

get ad-aware or antother spy bot thing, a virus checker and a firewall (all can be downloaded for free).

If you do have that and you didnt give your password, then im lost.

You can also, a less solicited answer, Log the logging. Run a logger for yourself, and see if you can catch The .exe on their logger and find the directory and delete it. Then change email/password. And if you need any ingame help bro, I'll hook you up. This happened to me, I wouldn't wish this on anyone else.

Same thing happened to me! But I I tried to log on, it didnt recognise my password, i retrieved it, then when i logged on. All my characters got deleted! All 4! But nothing was taken out of storage, So i kept all my ecos and obsidian shards, Fewh

Did you play GW in a net cafe? They have keyloggers there all the time without you knowing.

Apart from using a keylogger, the thieves may have simply guessed your password (if it's easily guessable - e.g. your name, your characters name, your email, or you use the same password on some other site they own/have hacked).

EDIT: and like M1h4iL says, internet cafés (and other public computers, e.g. in schools) are often brimming with keyloggers. Assume anything you do on a public computer is, well, public.

Safest way I've found to bypass keyloggers on public computers was to type a letter, then some odd letters that didn't fit your password, select the odd ones with the mouse (and no, they can't track this, as they can't see where the mouse selects), type the second letter, then odd letters, and repeat till your password is in.

I had this happen as well. I was logged in at the time though and got kicked off due to someone logging in to my account. I immediately logged back in and changed password, and nothing was lost, but it was damn lucky I was logged in at the time. After that I checked everything and not a trace of any keyloggers, viruses, spyware or anything.

I find myself wondering now, how they got ahold of this, who it was and whether it was random or they actually have something against me. But unfortunately I have no idea how it was done either so I have no idea what to prepare for to prevent this from happening again.

Don't use same e-mail you are using in gw and the same password no where. I prefer to have a e-mail and password only for gw and other e-mail and password for other stuff like forums, games, etc. If that was a key logger or some kind of trojan reinstall system best way. You can't detect homemade trojan or keylogger. Thats why if you dl some skill program's ect don't do that because no virus checker or spy checker can't help you if that file is infected with homemade virus or keylogger.

I think we got a h4x0r on our hands OR a curropt mod; thats checking your email/pw are the same as your guildwars accounts.

i think u need to update window for the IE upgrade too, coz there is a exploit in old version of ie, well that is something happen to WoW
