This seems very obvious to me but I can't believe it wasn't resolved during BETA.

What sense does it make that my lvl 10 character gets aggro'd by every lvl 3 beastie from half a mile away? If I fight them, I get ZERO XP and even at lvl 10, these fights are not quick and easy when there's 5 of them on you.

Shouldn't the aggro range of mobs be scaled according to the level difference?

Well, if you are going to be literal about it then you could also say that agro range should depend on where they are facing. If they are looking the other way they shoudn't see you. Kind of like metal gear solid and such.

I absolutely agree to this. It is very annoying when as a lvl 11 you have to stop to fight a group of lvl 3 and 4 enemies. The fight isn't quick and you get no exp for killing them.

I think there should be a cut off of aggro when the levels are so far apart. For instance if I am lvl 11 then nothing below lvl 7 should aggro me. That way you get exp for each kill and you can travel earlier areas of the game for quests and items without so much hassle.

Another quirk with the game that needs to be fixed is the aggro doesn't go away. If you have an enemy aggro you, and you run away, you have to zone or they will follow you forever. There needs to be a fix so that if you just run by, they will follow for a brief amount of time then fall off.

i look at it like this (and sacred has implemented it):

you're a lowly level 5 and you stumble across a big bad level 20 guy. you think "eep 20" (or maybe yay! suicide! if thats your mind set ) and try to avoid. if he sees you you're in trouble but you're unlikely to go for it unless you're with a group that you really do well with and your blood is running high.

Now imagine you're a lowly level 5 devourer. And you see a level 20 human coming towards you. Now ok the human may attack you if they please, but you sure as hell aren't gonna cause any agro to them!

Bottom line:

The battles that ensue are NOT quick and having to slog through tons of mobs for an hour and not get XP for them is just not cool.

It's not like being lvl 10 is UBER compared to the masses of lvl 3s that aggro you. Unless you're an Elemental w/ high spec'ced AOE spells, those fights are still going to take awhile and you're rewarded with nothing.

I see it as an opportunity to farm gold and materials, so I don't mind so much... It's when those level 3s actually mob and kill me, that's when I'm truely annoyed...

Agree with the above posts about fixing aggro. If you don't get exp from mobs then they shouldn't aggro you or something like that,so that players don't have to deal with mobs that they don't want to fight. Also, mobs that aggroed you should stop chasing you after a set distence.
