Wands or Swords??

I am an Elementalist and I noticed that for me, a wand with 5-8 damage, hits for more damage than a sword with 7-10 damage. Does anyone else notice this?

Thats cause a wand uses your elemental skill for the damage, so say the wand did fire damage, and you had a 12 in fire, you'd do more damage with that wand.

Warriors have the same thing in their Weapon skills.

which is also why some of the better weapons have skill requirements to "unlock" their full potential. For instance, I was gonna buy a grim cesta that gave +12 energy from someone and when I saw it, you need 9 death magic, which I dont have, so it would only give me like, 6-7 energy, though it doesnt tell you.

and Lord Chin, as an Elementalist, the "main" weapon for you is wands/canes/staffs because pretty much all of the bonuses for those will help you (+casting speed, +energy regen, all things that help casters)

It sucks that it doesn't really tell you the full benefit for equiping a wand. Thx all for the answers.
