I'm an Elementalist and I like Fire Magic. Where do you think I should use the Signet of Capture? What fire skills can only be reached with it?

I am the same thing and from my "research" I have found that you should ONLY use SoC on, first, all the elite skills since that is the only way you can get them now, and second, on skills you missed.

You can obtain ALL the others from quests or skill trainers so as long as you are thorough, you wont have much to worry about. Just getting all the elite skills is going to be QUITE a task on its own and because of their number, it'll cost a lot too.

I am also desperate for some new skills as I suppose you are as well but the trick, my firend, is patience. When you get to Yak's Bend, you will have access to A LOT of new skills.

Okey, so Can't get Mind Burn without SoC. How about the 2 'Ether' elite Skills in Energy Storage? do i need 3 SoC to get these all? i found a trainer who sells SoC, so i have access to 2 SoC right now.

Quick question on SoC. Once you've unlocked it as a skill you don't have to buy it again do you? You just go to town, add to inventory and go hunting for skills again... right?

no, you have to spend a skill point on it. It also costs half the gold that all the other skills cost you at that point.

The bosses are all glowy
(must be somethig they picked up long ago and far, far away)

Pay attention to the spells they are using - you don't want to capture the same one twice on one you can't use.

I've seen red and blue bosses but I haven't figured out which does whatt.

My UI has been bugged since start and I until lst night I haven't been able to see the spells they were casting.
(Just got the trade button to display last night).

in the desert i saw a ranger boss. i was kind of lucky that the skill i wanted was at the breach so it wasn't too hard to get.

WOW I never noticed the colors that makes my finding skill a lot easier. And you can just buy more signets and if your intellegent you shouldnt need to scrap around for skill points to buy them because most good skill are learned through questing and not through skill masters.

This might be a stupid question, but I was wondering:

Can a W/Mo use Signet of Capture to capture and use a, say, mesmer skill?

I know this has been asked millions of times, but where can i find a person that sells SoC? I just got post Searing today and have killed 3-4 bosses already, 2 of which were useful to me but I didn't have a signet. Where are they?

You can't get SoC until Lion's Arch.

SoC's are sold in Quarrel Falls,
but there is a quest in Lion's Arch to get it. The quest can only be done once however.

Since SoC's can be bought for less than other skills, using a SoC on a non-elite skill is not a "waste" because it actually saves you money, but on the other hand is in not really worth the effort either, except in certain cases where the skill isn't available until much later (like Aftershock). You probably don't want to waste a slot on SoC if you aren't capturing an ability that you could have just bought because it's more trouble then it's worth.

You might want to look at the following thread for some of the elite skill locations, the elite are the only ones you can't get from a trainer or quest.

You can also buy SoC's from the same guy that gave you the quest, once you've completed it, in Lion's Arch.

if your guild has a guild hall, anytime in post-searing, the skill trainer in the guild hall will give you SoC. But I don't think there are any bosses with worthwhile skills that early.

(i buy them from kaineng center, no real reason, i just do) i know you can get a couple of SoC's from quests, but i didn't know you could buy em cheaper
