After reaching level 20...
Celdor Nailo
... experience points do nothing for you, right? You don't gain levels and you don't gain attribute points to spend so I no longer bother with mission bonuses.
Besides the fun of doing the bonuses, am I right in saying that more experience does nothing for me? Am I at a point where I will never be able to raise an attribute again, unless I lower another?

you gain skill points that you can use to unlock/purchase skills for your character or buy cap signets to capture elite skills.
Batou of Nine
You still can gain XP, except instead of increasing levels, you gain a skill point each time your xp bar fills up. Skill points are used as the name implies, to purchase new skills. 1 point per puirchased skill.
yes, once you reach 20 you get no other attribute points, OTHER than the two 15 point attribute quests. Two quests that each give xp and 15 attribute points, one starts in Augury Rock, the other in Droknars Forge...
enjoy...

those 30 extra atts in two quests brings you to 200, max. So right now, all you can do is "farm exp" for skillpoints if you need sigs of cap to go get all your elite skills. also, ascend, and complete the game. There's still plenty to do after ascending and hitting 20. Namely, the mursaat come to mind ^_^ funny little creatures.
But yeah, Cap elites, farm exp for skill points if you need it, if not, start levelling a new char, or try your hand at PVP/Tombs

I should have mentioned that I reached level 20 weeks ago and am ascended. I just finished the mission after thunderhead keep.
I forgot about the skill points that are gained. Do you receive skill points for bonuses?

you do if the 1000xp takes you up to the 'next' level.

Wrong. Bonus is always a skill point. It doesn't have to level you. Same with mission. Mission+bonus = 2 solid skill points.

well I make a lvl 20 in 5 hours then I do the 15 point attribute quest and I do some other stuff like get the best weapons... runes and die armor...
then I make a new character I also have some UW chars and some Runners etc...

I'm not sure what you're trying to say - that you can play for that long without getting bored out of your mind or that you can farm as well as thousands of other people in order to get runes and dyes?

I also assume that if aNet decides to increase the maximum value for characters our accumulated experience points will definitely apply. The reason I think this is because a while back they made a change to the amount of experience needed for a new skill point, and suddenly a lot of people had new skill points awarded to them retroactively. So until you hear otherwise, there's a good chance experience being accumulated today will result in a higher character level later.

forgot to add to the op, between the elite skills and the ones you have no cnoice but to buy, you will need somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-40 extra skill points over what you can get via missions and leveling to 20 to completely unlock all your skills.
Once you are level 20, then every 15k xp after that is another skill point. And, there are some extra quests at the end of the game that are huge xp as well as Underworld, another pve area with big xp quests. Sorrows Furnace another spot.
It will seem a daunting task thinking about how you will get the gold and the skill points to unlock all your skills. But don't think about it, just do it. And the good thing is there will be a lot of skills that you won't really use much or are worthless, so you can get them later. And if you are into pvp, you can also unlock skills through earning faction from pvp play. Only drawback is unlocked stuff via faction is only avail for your pvp only chars.
Hope this helps

Level DO increase beyond level 20.
We, the players, just do not see that.
Why ?? Well IMO, who cares...
Does a player at virtual (how else should i call it) level 30 has any advantage
over another player at virtual (once again) level 21 ?
I do not thing so, and i do not have any facts to base it on.
How do i know, that PLAYERS level greater than level 20 do exists ??
Simple, but rare, i had an opportunity to screen grab a game glitch that showed us the actual level of a player.
The situation.
While in a mission, two party members disconnected / left
Our party window showed one of them Level 24.
Take a look at the attachment picture
No, this isn't a fake picture, i'm not that lame
How do i validate that picture as authentic ??
I really do not know how, but if anyone knows a way, i'm willing
to put my scren grab to the test

That's a glitch that sometimes happens when somone is lagging in, or has left the party. There are situations as well when there is no level at all.

Well, i do not think that the game (or server) just accidently
had chosen lvl 24 for that player.
I prefer to believe that the game (or server) 'glitched'
into showing us the players real level

So you ppl think that, the game just poped a lvl for that player out
of the blue (sky, sea, whatever) just for the fun of it.
Nice programming :P.
Is that AI or GI (Glitch Intellidgence) ??? :P

Umm, when the bug occurs, it shows the player having the same level as the last monster he had targeted.

Very close to be true since the screen capture is from
Iron Mines Of Moladune mission, which involves lvl24 foes.
Was that a wild quess ???
I'm asking because you specifically stated "targeted" monster
