barrels - do they still exist?

I haven't been able to play the game for a while, and the last time I played was shortly after they implemented the locked chests. None of the update notes from ANet at the time, or since, mentioned any changes to the barrels and wreckage and other non-chest items you could kick open. All it said was that chests are locked now and you need keys, and later they said they improved the items you get from locked chests.

I only played for a little over a week when they changed the chests, and I didn't see any barrels or non-chest containers during that time. I've been playing the last couple days, and still haven't spotted a single barrel or other kickable storage container. So that's like two weeks of play, and no barrels or wreckages. Did they remove everything except locked chests, and just not mention it? It was fun to find barrels and wreckages since they were usually sort of hiding, so hopefully they are still there somewhere. It would be nice to know if anyone has see anything other than a stupid locked chest since they updated them.

They exist only in Pre-searing Ascalon now as "hidden stash"es

It's a shame they're gone, it would be nice if they were still there if you went out of the way to find them. Thanks for letting me know so I don't pull my hair out anymore!

dude they r still there, its just been renamed to hidden stash

there is always 1 nead ashford, hehe trick is this just be lvl 1 & roam around whole map finding those barrels or so called hidden stash, most of the monsters dont hit u..1s ur invent get full sell stuff to merchant

I get that Hidden Stashes are still there, and only in pre-searing. I was sad that there is nothing left but locked chests once you go to post-searing. It was fun kicking barrels and wreckages and stashes even if they did only have like $50 worth of stuff in them most of the time. Even if you have a key for every chest you find, it just doesn't seem nearly as fun to open them now.

It certainly made the "long" mino/griffin farm run a bit less attractive, since it contained 3 wreckages of an average 100 gold each.

But well, you find keys now that you can use or sell for extra gold.
