Its not, but that doesnt matter for the fact that inventorys are allways full.

Its harvested from 10 players during 2 good weeks and only stored by one player because he doesnt play PvE, no pve items at all, and he is online most of the day.

Well I started buying Monsterous Fangs and Claws. And not a few I bought 250 of each. Then saw I had more money and started buying more.....well after 10 miniutes of non stop clicking and running to my storage the trader says.
Sorry I just ran out of stock. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well I have more than 400 of both sooo..please don't slap me if the prices sky rocket.
Did you know you can open storage and carry it anywhere in town with you? First thing I do when I get to town is open storage. Then I can do all my selling/buying/crafting/depositing without having to return to Xunlai Agent.

Well I have bleached shells, fangs/claws I'm holding on to just like OP...cept I'm not gonna blow a bank roll buying them from the merchant. There's plenty of time before Chpt2 to run around in the desert killing those pesky wurms and such.

i never had more than 15k till i started farming, got around 70k now and have a green axe but can't remember it's name, but the guy i was with was desperate to buy it off me for 30k so i held on to it till i know it's worth. (or i'm just greedy and it will end up being worth less)

seems you didn't cause too much inflation. the merchant has more teeth, eye, and claws. they are not much more expensive then they were before.

sigil will always be the best way to make money. most expensive item on the game but very difficult to get.

since i've learned a trick to making money i don't tell anyone else about it. i started using it about month and a half into GW and still use to this day. first time i did it i made 120k in 4 hours. will admit that i make less than i used to in that same time frame by not by much.

Some people always seem to have uber cash but I've never had more than 20k at a time, though that is likely due to the fact that I have six characters and they all have complete droks or droks with a 15k chestpiece (never saw the point of buying the rest of the 15k armor). I've done a bit of farming, mostly in SF, but not enough to ever make more than maybe 5k or so at a time, depending on whether I found a green item or not (which I always got the crappy ones). I have been a bit overgenerous to some guildmates and strangers as well which has had it's toll on my finances, but overall, I have found great enjoyment in this game which is better than the minor pleasure I would have if I spent all my time farming or running and getting a lot of cash...

have any of you rich people thought about sharing with the less fortunate? If you gave someone that is poor or something and gave them 1 ecto out of your gazillion it would make them faint. Sharing is caring lol.

How do we rich ecto farmers know who is poor and who is just lying about their own wealth? Giving it randomly won't make it so that the community knows about it, I know since I gave golds/ecto (Not that much ecto though, I ain't rich myself ) to newbies in ascalon before. Sure, they are thrilled and jumping but that could be because they were actually poor, or because that they just got one more ecto along with their 50 others ..

Sadly it's way too hard to seperate the true poor ones out of the scammers, but don't get me wrong. I agree with your point that sharing can lead to good things, plus they might get overwhelmed by such generosity that they would love GW even more .

LMAO!

I'm with you. I'm the kinda guy that chugs his hunter's ale (the kind you have to work for in pre-searing) belches loudly and hits on peoples wives before starting a barfight, getting his ass kicked then being laid out on the street where I sleep in my cardboard box and cry about how much I suck =(

Your only as rich as you want to be. The main reason people might say Im "rich" is because of this post. But ingame I get flamed non-stop about how "poor" I am just because I prefer to wear Knight's Armour over all the 15k ones. I didnt waste my money on armour that in my opinion looks bad or on fissure which I think looks horribal for male Warriors.

When I started I felt rich just because I had 500g. Just yesterday my guild had a laugh because I yeld out "YES IM RICH AGAIN!" just because I found a silver dye.

Gold/resources don't make you rich, your playing style and mind set do.

I am at Duid's Overlook, and when I saw I hit 5k, I was happy. I'll have enough gold when I reach Droknar's to buy armor, and then I'll be set.

I prefer playing the game. Farming is boring.

Skill > Time spent.

Time spent also includes farming.
The amount of gold you have does not change your fundemental status as a player. Whether you have a collectors wand, a green wand, or a pvp wand, you will perform virtually the same.

So really, there is no such thing as "poor" and "rich" on GW; it's merely "have" and "have not."

Between all my characters, 315 hours of play since the game came out. I have between all character, about 35 plat. Don't care about 15k armor, don't care about dying my armor (my warrior wears the orange because it is the cheapest), and don't farm. Just know what to sell and not to sell to the merchant (runes are a no-no, dye is a no-no, certain upgrades are a no-no)

I don't find it hard to raise cash - but I don't understand why people KEEP raising?

When I got to having some 300K in storage, I just couldn't be assed any more. I start giving things away (which isn't easy, damn! people are suspicious!), stop picking up anything but golden loot... I mean, why bother?

I farm now and then for fun, but mostly I just play the game. I mean, why would you want much more cash than that (especially as I'm fully decked out already).

It has the net benefit of making someone's gaming experience better = better for the game's future overall (they might tell their friends about it!) and giving usually gives a nice feeling to the giver as well

Just don't reward the "give me stuff!!!!11" demanding brat types....
... that sounds good and dandy except for the fact that we don't really care about their gaming experience ... (j/k)

I'm pretty sure that it's not even possible to cause "inflation" (a long term increase in the price above the market equilibrium price) by buying out the stock of Monstrous Claws or Fangs or any item for that matter.

Based on (my limited knowledge of) macroeconomics, buying out the entire stock of items from the trader only represents a movement along the supply curve. Quantity Supplied drops, but the Demand curve remains the same, so yes, the price will definitely increase temporarily, but the price will eventually adjust itself back to the market equilibrium price that was around when the item in question was bought out.

To actually have a permanent price increase, you'd need a shift in either the Supply or Demand curves caused by factors such as a dramatic decrease in the drop rate for the item or the Monstrous Claws/Fangs suddenly having an actual use.

So yea, you don't have to worry about harming the economy too badly in the long run by investing in a trader item and buying it all out.

those items probly have the worst drop rate on the game. they can drop randomly from any monster on the game. there is no specific area or monster to kill to get them. i've found more ecto than i have claws, fangs, and have NEVER found an eye.

I think some of you guys might've missed it, but there was that GW article that gave out some numbers:

50% of all active accounts have less than 10k
75% of all active accounts have less than 20k

My biggest problem with people who complain about being poor and beggars (especially in Ascalon or Droknar's Forge) is rather than save money they spend everything they have. Most of the stuff they don't need anyway.

Guy can't pay for a a 15>50 weapon. Guess what? Your crap weapon is completely fine for PvE!

Especially the beggars wearing 15k armor, those guys piss me off to no end. "But I just spent all my money on my armor!"

Some players have no money management whatsoever.

those numbers are not completely accurate. even though players may not have much gold in their inventory they have more gold value in assets. i never keep gold myself. i spend it on things i see when the market changes so i can flip it.
