You can't know if something is a superior vigor if it is unidentified. That's how you unlock it; by identifying it in a piece of armor. So unidentified pieces of armor (Gold armor) are usually around 30k to 50k for what I've seen. But you're leaving it to chance. It could be any superior rune. You wouldn't know until you identify it.

First of all Superior vigor or any vigor is the only rune you know 100% that it is that certain run because of the "W" on the rune. Salvage a peice of blue/purp/gold armor and you will get an UNID rune. As the being said a UNID superior vigor usualy sells for the Merchant selling price which is 70k atm to 75k.

Ok, I'm really confused now. I thought when you pick up a piece of armor, it's unidentified if it has a rune in it. So can you salvage the unidentified armor to get an unidentified rune? I always thought you had to identify the armor to see what rune was in it and then you'd be able to salvage it. Is there something I'm missing? I'd like some clarity.

you have to use a expert salvage kit or superior salvage kit to get the rune. You then identify it to unlock the item and to find out what rune it is.

Only if it was a gold item can it be a sup vigor.

So you're saying that you can expert salvage an unidentified armor and get an unidentified rune out of it?

Yes, if it's an unidentified rune of a certain profession, it will say something like "Ranger Rune" or "Warrior Rune", with the corresponding level (minor/major/superior) of icon on it. If it's an unidentified superior rune, it would just say "Rune" on it.

I would go with AncientPC's check on this. It's usually -5k -> Merchant Sell.

I bought 2 of them over the weekend at -3k Merchant Sell.

Thing is, if you're unlocking for PvP, it's so easy to faction unlock it rather than shell out the gold for a rune unless you're using it for PvE anyways.
