Superior Vigor Rune and HP not adding up..?

Hey all,
Sorry for this crazy question. I haven't used a superior rune before but I just got my elementalist where I wanted her and had a rune of superior fire. I know the superior fire takes you up 3 levels but -75 hp. Ok, I added my superior vigor first (my hp was 510, without any other mods, weapons, etc.). It only took it up to 530??? Is there a cap on character's HP's?? I added the superior fire now I only have 455 hp. I was always told/understood that the superior vigor was +75 hp. I thought that it would cancel out the superior fire's penalty. Ok, so enlighten me what i've done or misunderstood

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought..

Minor Vigor is +20hp
Major Vigor is +31hp
Superior Viror is +40hp

Are you sure you didnt just use a minor vigor? Or replace a minor vigor with a superior vigor (sup is 20 more than minor)? I'm pretty certain theres no HP cap, at lest not that low if there is one.

Minor- 30
Major- 41 (dunno why...)
Superior- 50

A level 20 character regardless of class has 480HP without any armor or weapon enhancements.

When testing be sure to start with no armor on and no weapon equipped, to eliminate runes or weapon mods interfering with your data.

If you had 510HP prior to upgrading to Superior Vigor, it is most likely you had a minor vigor (30hp) in one peice of armor on top of your base 480HP max.

480 Base
-75 Superior Fire
+50 Superior Vigor

455 Total Hit Points is correct for your scenario.

Please don't kick yourself too hard when you realize Major Vigor is 9 less HP for 65K less.... lol

I guess that answers my questions. Thanks all for the kind help. Also, I actually salvaged the superior vigor rune. Ain't no way of spending that type of money on health (for only a few more hp)
