Deadly Axe Solo Farm Build (W/Mo)
BaseKid
I use a completely different build when I'm farming..it works pretty good for those trolls and in the desert for the griffons
My attributes look like this
11 Smiting
11 Healing
9 Axe Mastery (with helm and minor rune)
6 tactics (with rune)
My Skills are
Bonettis Defense
Cyclone Axe
Judges Insight (careful using this one!)
Executioners Strike
Vigorous Spirit
Healing Hands
Live Vicaurously
Strength of Honor
Basically, its a standard farm build refocusing its damage off AoE spells and on to dmg with your axe (which should have axe mastery 9 or less). You shouldn't have to worry too much about energy, thats what bonettis is for, and of course, adraneline gained by cyclone axe. Healing Hands is key for one to have in this build, as it is what will keep you alive in a ton of trolls. Vigorous Spirit and Live Vicaurously are other great healers, and cyclone axe makes full use of these skills. Judges Insight is to be used when u have healing hands on and get into bonettis quickly so u dont get interupted. Vigourous spirit definetly helps and should be casted while in healing hands for greatest effect.
Careful on this build to try and have cyclone axe being used while in bonettis, as sometimes trolls will interupt it and it will cause some trouble if you dont have healing hands available.
I would have a video showing that this build works, but my computer is way too slow to allow that (bad internet connection). Anyways, I hope you enjoy my build! (judges insight primarily helps with killing krogg smush in the troll cave).
Comments would be greatly appreciated

sounds pretty good considering the new update nerfing farming
this seems to go around that

Dump the points in tactics for more in Axe to get more damage, you don't need a long duration Bonnetti's because you can recharge it every Cyclone Axe.
Maybe drop a point or 2 from healing and grab a superior axe rune.

Try SoJ, I think it works pretty well for farming. Also I've used my w/r for some time and can farm most places.

I use a similar build... but I got rid of all smite. I make the Griffon run in under 10 minutes with this build, and Glads Defense is sweet for cycling through the axe attacks while still in a stance.

3 strength (leftover attribute points)

I've never bothered farming griffons, but since the AoE patch, how many can you get on you before they start running back?
Betrunken
3 mobs is most i can get without losing some, but with good spwns, u can get up to 3 mobs griffons and 2 mobs minatour.. :-p

and Glads defense try swapping some of the axe mastery for smiting and put zealots fire in the skill bar - that way your still doing axe damage but your doing evern more dmg everytime you use vigorous spirit (could even add in another cheep healing spell instead of all the axe skills)

Battle Torn
Here is my build since the aoe nerf...
I use a vamp wep mod and cast mending straight away (-2dmg and +45hp from sheild while enchanted)... sprint doesnt only you there quicker and past the devourers, but if they pop up during farming you can sprint away and they dont follow much, but the griffons do . wait for regen then Balthazars then heard the griffons and cast glad def to protect you while you cast the next few skills, live vicariously, cyclone (wait for glads def to ware out and cyclone until it does) cast bonettis and repeat with cyclone and bonettis until glads def regens. I find using Live vicariously with a vamp mod good for healing each cyclone +8and +3 but use healing breeze and then a stance if you get into trouble. Oh yeh dont forget to let glads def run out before using bonettis. I hit for 15-20 each cyclone stacked with the vamp mod and glads does 25 per blocked attack.....also dont forget to attack normaly while your farming and switch between the foes with highest health so basically allways attack the enemy with the most hp and see how many you can take out with that last cyclone.....not to mention bonus from your enchantment each time you attack... Yeh I use strength but I need to for my sheild but also cos i find it cool to attack em all down to the same hp if one joins the fight late.

what healing do you get without any points on healing attruibute - i'm guessing this is kill them before they dmg you kinda build?
Sharpe_116
switch out glads defence for SoJ and ull be doing allot more damage
Battle Torn
(forgot to add my healing attribute, but added now)
problem with SoJ is that they cant attack while they are knocked down, where glads they just keep taking damage... but Ill give it a try and do a comparrision.

My W/Mo's griffon farming build goes like this:
~ Mending
~ Live Viciously
~ Cyclone Axe
~ Bonetti's Defence
~ Executioner's Strike
~ Gladiator's Defence { Elite }
~ Vigorous Spirit
~ Healing Breeze
9 Healing Prayers
4 Strength ( 3 + 1 )
12 Axe Mastery ( 10 + 3 )
14 Tactics ( 12 + 2 )
Although I switch Healing Breeze for another Axe Skill as the max amount of HP I go down by is around 40-60.

I don't use smite because of attribute point dispurtion. Smite was worth it before with baths aura, but now its a waste. An extra 7 dmg points per hit isnt gonna make that much difference(zealots fire) and thats with a lot of points in smite. I average 40 dmg with penetrating blow, and 55 with executioners strike. I use these skills twice each when i use glads defense, so in 30 seconds i do close to 200 more dmg with these skills. If i switched to zealots i would have to hit about 30 times to get that(with dmg +7). This would be fairly easy when full mob, however when mob drops down to one or two, it would lose its benefit. With axe mastery i can still deal high fmg to the lone griffon that survives.
I also dont put any other healing skills because they are not neccessary. I can take on 12-15 griffons OR 2 griffons and any number in between and not die with this build.

SoJ is not a good skill for this build, it knocks them down, which would let you take less dmg, but this build takes care of any dmg you would take. Te problem after the nurf is not being abler to deal dmg as fast as Balths aura could. I deal 33 dmg for ten seconds to each griffon each time it attacks during glads defense. Say they attack every other second, thats a lil over 150 dmg, plus average of 15 per cyclone which i get through twice during a glads defense, and the poor griffon im targetting getting another 200 dmg from my axe skills... i kill them pretty fast. The entire run takes me a lil under 10 minutes to kill every mob exept monk griffon. That is only 1-2 minutes slower than i did it with Balths aura.
Monica Angelina
I'm interested in more opinions on the way to gather, or, herd the mobs. In the old days, just about everything followed you and that is what made Griffon farming efficient, lots of mobs in a relatively short amount of time. Now I can usually manage 2 and sometimes maybe 3 groups of mobs before they start running back to their original position. If I have to go from spot to spot to get to all of the mobs, it just takes so much more time, which, has exactly the effect of the AoE nerf, slow down the farming efficiency...
Betrunken
Monicam there really isnt a good way that I know of to aggro all the mobs anymore, but you can still get enough of them to make it worth it. once you run into the large open area, run past the first mob of minatour that sit there, and tuen right.. run all the way to the last mob and you should have 10-15 enemies on you. When you aggro the last mob, stop after you get the closest one in your LoS for the best chance to not losepreviously aggro'd mobs.

Note: this is NOT for pvp'n, i use it to solo, altho take off mending, and switch a few skills it is good for teaming, and i just read the livpoo whatever yer name is, pvp makes possible good players into arrogant pricks, lol :P everyone plays different, there are 2 sides to the game, and as far as you winning hoh for us to farm the uw/fow, i really could care less, leave hoh another team will come along and replace you, as can happen to anyone, and not everyone in pve plays it to farm, tho i myself have been down into the fow/UW, i myself have yet to take the time to spend the 5 hours or more to compleate all the quests or etc, not everyone plays 30 hours out of a 24 hour day :P, was it really nessary to post in such a way, did you really have to go that far? no you could have just made the point that you were joking or whatever, so what if someone wants to play the palidain knight, we buy and play games the way we want.....again another post by someone who feels the need to show how big he thinks his gaming groin is......
Aggroing: stop, let them hit you a few times, then start running for the next mob, let them hit you a few more times along the way, this hellps to keep them aggro'd, and following you.

Don't let the thread crapping get you down, guys. I get the occasional "my Mo/x kills faster" or "my R/x kills faster" or "my Ele/x kills faster" in my build threads too. I just ignore it. Good for them, ya know? I suppose if the game allowed me to change my primary class, then their input would mean something. As it stands, telling that their build is better doesn't really contribute much. Now suggestions for a W/x alternative to the same build are fine and always welcome, because that's at least a tangible goal, and not one that requires creating / leveling / ascending / equipping a new character.

i farm elona reach now - so much quicker dont get many/any GOLD items but i make about 1k for each run just from the minotaur horns and pelt drops. Not as much profit you may think but i say half the time to farm = more profit/farming time

I'll be nice and keep my opinions on wa/mo's in general to myself. However, I saw this thread and out of boredom decided to farm the griffons for the first time. You'll notice it's not a wa/mo, and note that I've also done the droknar's run with this character:
No trouble at all with them, or anything else in that portion of the desert. Skills in order of appearance.
Healing Signet
"Watch Yourself!"
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Sever Artery
Gladiator's Defense
Physical Resistance
Ether Feast
Physical Resistance + "Watch Yourself" and the ripostes/bleeds are really the key to this build. I didn't find myself using Gladiator's Defense all that much. With PR + WY up nothing was doing more than 3-4 a hit to me outside of their special attacks. I didn't time it but I killed off all the griffons twice (in groups as large as 9) and it seemed to take around 10 minutes each time.

Nice job ellix... Glad to see some creative builds. How often are you casting Heal sig and Ether feast with that build?
BBoy_Manchild
with the very little farming i do, i use this
16 tactics
8 healing
rest in axe with sup rune
i dont need alot of life because im perpetually in a 75% chance to block stance and i get 16 life per hit
glads defense
bon defense
cyclone axe
live vicariously
mending
vigorious spirit
exe strike
penetrating blow
i still do alot of damage with cyclone axe
and glads defense does alot of damage and lasts a while

None at all with no more than 3 on me (healing sig once after the fight is over). With a big horde of things maybe once every 10 seconds.
CrimsonLegionary
You seriosly need some smiting, healing hands can be replaced with life vicarously and judges insite is not needed. balths aura and soj are highly needed, put balths aura instead of exuctionars strike, and your good! thats what i roughly use anyhow, and it works amazing.
Lou
balths aura?? it counts as AOE and thus make enemies flee.
BaseKid
funny thing is, i changed builds i use a while ago. Balthazars Aura? WTF? lol.
Anyways, the build i use now is still a traditional W/Mo
Glads Defense
vigourous spirit
Live Vicaurously
Bonettis Defense
Shield Stance
Executioners (meh...does some dmg at least)
Cyclone Axe
Balthazars Spirit
I ditched healing hands for glads defense, and i use no smiting and im still ok.
12 tactics +1 (rune)
10 Healing
10 Axe Mastery (helm, rune)
I find this actually tanks better. BTW, judges insight was actually pretty good. I was striking for quite a bit of dmg with it. Just had to be careful. I find with this build, u can always be in a stance, and thus are less likely to be interupted. When in shield stance or glads, u can spam executioners after a cyclone for good dmg and balthazars is for energy regain.
I find it better this way...meh. I thought a solo with judges insight was unique so i posted it.

Battle Torn
I would ditch shield stance as you dont need it when farming...bonettis is allways active so you dont ever use another stance try healing breeze just before you go into bonettis for regen that will allow you to take larger mobs (3-4 groups a time)
I much prefer mending with a vamp mod...Ill post a screenshot tonight

Battle Torn
This build can take 3-4 mobs still fairly quick.
Enigmatics
Back on topic, W/*'s primary tactics are to gouge as much AoE damage as possible without scaring off crowds. W/Mo's are generally chosen for (concerning griffons) live vicariously/vigorous spirit, and strength of honor. These skills allow you to spam cyclone axe/hundred blades to some success. Stances/Shouts are used when you need to actually hit a healing tab. While definately not the most lethal farmers, these builds are fine for taking on desert griffins outside of Augury.
Battle Torn
I think it just depends on your attribute allocation to how lethal you are and your wep in my case.
I can usualy take care of 4-5 mobs (yes you can still lure them if you know how and where) in time it takes for 2 glads defense. I think this is just as fast before the aoe nerf using balthazars etc.

its about time a mod deleted all those flame posts
Battle Torn
Ive just updated my build to use all sup runes on 15k glads armour leaving me with a whopping 350hp (using mallions shield + sup vig rune)
This works much better and even faster... why have 500+hp when you never need it?....DOH!
Still finding those gold...I got a gold 16ar skeleton shield yesterday with 28hp allways and +6ar against charr... decent find if you ask me I now have more near perfect bows and swords than I know what to do with and making around 1.5k a run for 5-8 mins work
I just cant stop farming!

Strength of Honor I used a very similar build about a week ago, though I didn't bother with Judge's Insight, I took Healing Breeze. It could handle large griff packs (8+) safely, though it killed slower than the old, prenerf Balthazar's Aura versions. I also tried the riposte versions and found them very weak vs. mass griffs, they tend to kill very slow in my brief trial.
The problem with using a long duration Bonetti's is while it is up you gain little adrenaline. It is simply best to basically use Cyclone Axe every recycle. Thus a short duration Bonetti's is most favorable.

I've got Tactics at 14 and use glads for my primary damage. When it's down, I reposte spam. Reposte spamming works GREAT against the bosses, they go down fairly fast.
I use ether feast when i'm riposting (since I'm getting hit a lot still).
I use healing signet when I've got glads defense up (since I'm rarely getting hit, the -40 armor doesn't hurt much).
The size of the groups doesn't really matter since I'm barely seeing any damage.
I use Doylak sig and then throw up Glads. Heal sig if needed. Phys resistance once Glads ends and start reposting then. Ether feast. I attack constantly even though I have almost nothing in swordsmanship for the adrenaline.
Very easy to jump into for a first time farmer. Survivability is extremely high.
This is by far the easiest build I have used. Props to you.

Pretty simple thers also a thread about Fow farming with a very similar build, but it uses a sword, i think i got the idea from him for that three skill combo for survival!! Works really nice! Pure Warrior Farming!!! NO smite, healing or protection!!! Effective!! Oh can farm most anywhere from ettins to trolls!
Humbly.,
Thanks 2 Fow thread on Farming, 3skills that rock together!!!
