Vote GW for President! Or At Least Die Trying!

Well, not quite, but you've seen the link to the VGA awards on the GWGuru main page, right?

Where one is supposed to be able to vote for GW, right? Right?

Well, after ten minutes of IDIOTIC flash animations and WORSE sound, I've not found any way of voting for guildwars (possibly it's mentioned in "best font for visually impaired gamers" or "best game by publisher who did not bribe us enough to compete in the heavy categories" categories, because it sure as RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO isn't in "best rpg" or "best pc game", BUT more importantly I've realized that there is a category missing: STUPIDESTEST AND MOST ANNOYING WEBSITE OF ALL TIME!

I'd vote for the VGA site TWICE!
Too much, too slow, too dumb, too annoying.

(And why don't they rename it CGA Awards, for 'Console Game Awards' and be done with it.)

Correction of Correction: Looks like Numa assumed that Guild Wars was going to be nominated for categories other than what they listed in the Guru mainpage post.

But yeah. :P That site's interface stinks.

Maybe if they put 'Fiddy Cen't' or 'Grand Theft' in the name it would
get some attention.

I think I voted GW for Best Game World under Power Rank, but I can't tell because the Flash is slow and confusing as hell. Best Multi Player Game is listed under Nominees.

I went to the site and voted under both of the categories before posting the news. I can confirm personally they are there. And uh, yeah. What kind of freak did the site like that? There's no way to even view all the nominees without having to click through every single page to see who was nominated for what. Didn't say it would be easy! But c'mon, if you love the game (and heaven forbid you have a dial-up) you'll muddle you're way through

I do agree that site is way to cluttered on the verge of being non-useful.

I voted for GW in the Power Rank categorie (currently leading, whoo!), but I saw no option to vote in the Nominees categorie :S

that's the point.

there is no such thing as a real vote. other wise it would be simple as putting up a poll. they want you to be confused and frustrated so you don't vote or vote wrong. that way they can name who ever the hell they want. probly the person that paid them the most.

like G4's best game of the year halo 2 HA!!!! unreal 2k4 is 10x the game halo is and got nothing.

I'm proud to say I've never seen a G4 gaming award show, from what I heard it's all about stars that know nothing about video games and lots of skin... oh and some video game stuff.

Didn't think of it that way twicky, Also there lack of stopping repeat voting at least they could harvest email address for spam to cut down on cheating.

I did vote, trying to find the other catagory they are listed in to give my vote for it.

Whew, I'm glad someone posted this -- I wasn't sure if was just me or not, lol. That has to be one of the worst interfaces I've seen on a website. I viewed the 2 categories listed for GW nominations under the "Nominees" link and for the life of me could not figure out how to cast my vote. There is absolutely no logic to the way that site is designed.

When are people going to realize that just having fancy flash animations, etc. does not mean a site is well designed! More often than not those things bog down computers, cause confusion, and just clutter up the site. I guess it's a pet peeve of mine, lol.

I couldn't even find one of the listed categories ("best multiplayer game"), so I looked everywhere. Didn't find GW listed once, anywhere. It probably got buried under some sliding list, or maybe I got distracted by the idiotic sound effects as it zoomed by in the sliding list with the unreadable font.

Or perhaps it didn't have time to load - after all, I've only got a 10MBit connection and I only waited a couple of minutes for the page to chug along.

What little I did find was stupid, though. KOTOR 2 and farking Dungeon Siege 2 nominated for best RPG? F.E.A.R. nominated in four categories, including "Best PC game"? King Kong for best graphics? WTF?

Seriously, the SpikeTV VGA page is among the ugliest and least navigable page I've ever seen, and I fail to explain the nominations except as the result of money changing hands. There are porno-popup-warez sites which are not only less 1337-ugly and annoying, but also have less suspicious content.

Wow, I am wrong. Okay, so I go back to the site to check it out again (wanted to see some of the other games) and the nominee category you can't vote for. So you are all right, you can only vote under the Power Rank for the Best Game World for Guild Wars. The other's are just... fluff I guess. Where they will decide the winners (a group of judges who probably haven't even heard of Guild Wars let alone know what MMOG stands for most likely) or maybe I'm not giving them enough credit. Seriously, shouldn't they be required to play the games they are going to vote for? Who knows. Maybe they'll win by popularity, like how the Oscars are sometimes rigged like that.

I'm glad someone else is as confused as I am. I went to the site to give GW my vote, but the site was so confusing I don't know how the heck to even vote so I guess nothing will be getting my vote.
