When did the word "tips" get introduced in GW? When I started I never heard anyone say I run you there for tips. I gave them tip how to run there and they said ROFL. Then I got that he ment the other definition. So when did it get introduced? I certainly dont remember it 2 months when game came out. Personally I hate this word, I run for "tips", ill tip next person I see 1 gold next time.

As far as I remember tips have always been there. I don't see what's wrong with tips; you pay what you think the person's worth.

Tipping annoys me. I'd rather have a price agreed up front, both when doing the running, and being run. Although I live in Australia, so tipping is weird in general (I never quite got the ritual right when I visited the US and got some really rude waiters as a result.)

Most annoying is when you get half way through a mission, and the WaMo (who is the same level as everyone else, and everyone else has been doing just as much fighting) declares that he'd better get some tips right now, or he is leaving - cause he supposedly is running everyone.

Runners run, they don't fight. If your runner is fighting he doesn't know how to run.

I was at beacons perch with my 2nd string and I saw someone spamming about running to Forge for tips. SO I figured what the heck I can get run come back and fight my way like I am supposed to.

She made it there after dying once (got pinned by a glitch) so I gave her 1k as a tip. Its no biggie to tip, the word doesnt bother me at all.

Just dont get pissed when someone gives you little to no gp.

I still agree I like prices upfront; one time I asked for tips, and the guy goes, "Run a better route next time" and leaves group.. what an arse, lol. I did that run without a hitch, but because I didn't run the way he did, bah, I'm instantly wrong.

Thats why, whenever I feel like I want to run, I specify upfront; usually it's no more then 1k to anywhere unless it's a forge run.

I played the game 1 week after it came out, got to lvl 20 in 4 days, I never remembered people asking for tips then, I quit a month after it came out. Its just the word tip that sickens me, it should be like, I run you for donation, not a tip because I get confused by both meanings of tip. Also I run you for tip, is rarely used in our language, unlike the word I run you for donation. Donation only has 1 meaning. And you hear things about a band singing in area for a DONATION for hurricane, not a band singing in area for TIP. Dunno how it came to be so fast, but I hate it, its like when in the morning the sigil costs 39K, then at night it costs 50K, and the dumb sigil seller riper offer guy, try to sell sigils for 45K, EVEN WHEN ITS 41K at the moment, it just pisses me off (this was like 1.5 month after game came out).
I would use the word donation instead of using a price though, some players really want to get to a spot, really bad, there most likely players that beat the game, and have lots of money, and cant find a runner for long time, get fustrated, and after you run them, they will most likely give you a large sum of a DONATION.

Tips are always a debatable subject in regards to restaurants. Some people stiff the tip with runs as well, you can't help it.

I usually pay the same amount of money I would've paid anyway for the run. If they did a great job or it was a custom run I'll tip more. If they died a bunch of times and we had to rezone, I'll tip less.

When I first started out trying to make money running I was fortunate enough to be tipped a purple 12>50 req 8 Chaos Axe and a purple -1 enchanted req 9 Eternal Shield on top of the 10k for Ascalon to Sanctum Cay run. That was a lot of money and items to me at the time, I was really grateful.

As a result I tip pretty well and often cover for runnees who don't pay. Then again I can afford it now too.
