The Newest 8v8 Build: The Minion Massacre

Gather round, and you shall hear, of... the newest and lamest (based on your point of view), tactic in 8v8 battle. It is the Minion Massacre.
~The Minion Massacre~
Classes and Skills needed:
Seven Necromancers with Monk as their secondaries:
Five Necromancers should all have the following skills:
Blood of the Master
Verata's Sacrifice
Verata's Aura
Infuse Health
Order of Pain
Now the two remaining necromancers need the following skill:
Animate Bone Fiend
*It would help if the necros that used this had superior runes in Death Magic.
One Monk:
This monk should have the following skill:
"Light of Dwanya"
Now five of the second necromancers listed above, (not the ones with the "Animate Bone Fiend" skill), huddle together really tightly, (this is crucial), and use Infuse health three times, to get themselves to 12.5% maximum health, and then use Order of Pain to kill themselves off.
The two remaining necromancers use the Animate Bone Fiend skill to exploit their corpses for bone fiends. Then, when all the corpses are exploited, the monk runs in the middle of the pile of dead necromancers and uses "Light of Dwanya" to ressurect them all at the same time. The time from which, all players are dead to the time that they are all ressurected by Light of Dwanya should be around 25 seconds. After all players are ressurected, after 30 seconds they should have regained enough energy to kill themselves again.
For the sake of simplicity I'll round the total time needed to do this to a minute.
Repeat the cycle three times, (3 minutes), until you have at least 15 bone minions.
After you have 15 minions, you should be ready to own everyone, seeing as you have your regular army, plus over 15 level ~17 minions spiking for you.
Just keep casting your sacrifice spells that keep your minions alive and you should dominate without a problem.
What you may encounter is that people will use Verata's Aura to steal your minions, that's why you should bring Verata's Aura also, to steal them back. If at least five out of your eight necros bring this skill, then it's extremely unlikely that your opponent will be able to steal your minons away from you successfully.
This works best in GvG in the warrior guild hall, because it's large and the gates provide lots of extra time for you to pull this off successfully.
This build seems way overpowered and unstopable, good day.

I'm guessing the OP's post was being sarcastic? If so, nice one, I believed you were serious for a bit there.
If it wasn't, I hate to inform you that people have been using minion builds since before the game was even officially released. It is a very fun idea, I'll give you that much...but it is certainly not overpowered. There's nothing more fun than coming against a minion team, casting spiteful spirit on a couple of minions, then sending a tank into the mass for them to swing at...you should see how fast the minions and DP'd enemies fall!

you're build isn't the best ever...
to kill yourself... you only really need blood is power...
to get minions, use summon minions instead of bone horror, to have twice as many minions, and fiend too for ranged damage.
to res quickly, get a resmer.
there's more to it, but i'll let you figure out what else to bring to improve the minion's power.

a normal minion build get's it's 90+ minions before the start of the battle, so what you said is partly untrue...

minions are crap, even an unogranganized IWAY team can rip through them in seconds. they're all clogged up on the stairs, so get someone to nuke and throw a single war in cyclone axing and bam, no more minions.

Warrior should be dead before he reaches the stairs, The AOE shouldn't be a big problem as long as you have 2 full time minion masters.

I think some of you guys are being a little to hard on the minion factory build. Granted that the one that this poster gave is one of the worse I have heard in terms of efficiency. The basic 2 summoner 2 rezmer 2 saccer and 2 monk build is not too shabby. IWAY doesn't pose that great of a threat to a minion factory build imo. I have never lost to an iway group that didn't drop eoe and it seems to me that only like 1 in 4 iway groups actually bring that spirit.
someone said to get minions...I strongly disagree. Minions drop like rocks. take horrors they are much tougher. I normaly run summons with alternating a fiend summon and then a horror. Fiends have higher dps than horrors but horrors don't bunch up making themselves sitting ducks for a nuke.
I also tend to deviate from the standard build above and take one monk rather than 2 and bring a ranger who can throw down spirits. Namely winnowing, pred season, and natures renewal. Make sure that the monk isn't running healing enchants and nature's renewal does nothing to your team and helps keep you minions "safer" from all those water hexs that where posted above. The ranger can use is extra skill slots for traps and trap the base as I my groups usually end up staying at our own base while we build an army.
Some people bring fav winds for "added fiend damage" from what I can tell you aren't helping fiends as fiends don't use arrows. Watch thier attacks and you will not see a speed change. Which means if you bring fav winds you are just doing a favor any rangers on the other side.

Has anyone had much luck in tombs with a minion build in the last month? I've come across maybe 5 or 6 of them and absolutely massacred them with whatever build I happened to be running at the time. Maybe I just came across some really bad ones...but it seems to me this just isn't too viable against a halfway decent team...or even against a completely untalented IWAY team with EoE (which seems to be most of them these days).

a smart minion build would get fiends and minions, and summon aprox 6-8 minions, and put death nova on all of them.
that's why i said get minions...
even if eoe does kill your minions, the 6-8 minions that are melee will kill most targets near them.

Really, I don't get why Minion groups are so popular! its dumb yea, the reason its popular, is because it can get u some quick fame though like IWAY, but those groups cant go all the way. Balanced type group or plenty of other group can destroy it.

umm my build was a lil bit faster on making the minions...
2 suicide (55hp)monk's
and 2 Fast casting Ressurecters/healers
fill in the rest, we had over 50minions/horrors before the timer was thru.

well to be honest 10(even though u could max 5 times more) minions with death nova on them would destory most melee teams if u ball up.
all u need is 1 necro that spamss blood is power on the minion master then a fast casting mesmer that does ressurect = easy army :-)
well thats 3 players filled in and the rest of the needs about 2 more necro with 16 death to spam nova on all and boom instant 1000+ bomb locked and loaded :-)

I was in one yesterday. We did good, first time since I won 2 straight battles with MF. We defeated IWAY, organized or unorganized we still killed them, Ele spikers, and some balance teams with water ele's. We won relic battles and lost an altar battle because of the old symbiosis and fertile season combo the oponent used. We won 3 straight times, I think that's pretty good for MF groups. This build is fun.

I dont like the build myself but a lot of you are saying how easily minions are killed. Well when I used my minion build the opposing team never seems to focus on them. So in a sense they are not so bad since they can get to such amount that it becomes bothersome before a enemy team will start targeting them.

i realy like minion factory but ive neverwon more then 2battles with it.I dontthink minion factory works in HoH but it rocks in GvG. We were 3 actual players and 3 hances in unranked vs. friends. they got rank 560(or somthing) and we got rank 5600so as u see notrealy goodguild but they were 6 to and we owned em with 1 mesmer fast resser,1 minion master,corpse and 3 hances.

This build was old when the 105/55 Monks were months away from popularity. In fact, it was old when the Illus. Weapon builds came out.
It's never been all that powerfull, most likely because there are many ways to counter it. The first and most obvious is to rush the team before they have a chance to set up. If a MM team ever did get particularly powerfull, you can bet their name would become infamous, and all opposing groups would immediatly gang up on them.
I suspect the real reason the build never seems to die is that it is the single most similar build to anything in Diablo 2, and there is just something irresistable about the IDEA of a massive army against the enemies puny team.
One thing is has NEVER been is overpowered. If it really is having some success these days, that says a lot about how far the PvP competition has fallen since Fi and almost all of the other top guilds left.
