I can undersatnd why u only get 4 characters although it pisses me off as i need more. So i was wondering is there a way to purchase a second account without actually buying the whole game again. I thought maybe you could purchase a second cd key online cheaper than buying the whole game?

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT buy your game off of Ebay as this is a violation of the EULA and ToS(Terms of Service). It is a bannable offense.

He's right, and plus, it might not be legit anyways. I bought one, even though it worked, it was shortly thereafter banned for some previous infraction <NOT, I Repeat NOT the EULA breach> so take this as you will.

Its perfectly fine to buy off Ebay as long as you're buying the new retail game and not someone's used account.

Technically buying anything off ebay concerning GW, apart from unopened retail boxes (and even then I wonder.. ), is against the EULA and TOS and thus can get your account banned.

So buy'ing gold, or gold items, etc off ebay can get you banned if ANet find out about it and decide's to take action on it.

You can download the game and buy a second account legally, but you don't save any money. I realized this after posting a similar question here:

Bastard son - actually, depending on where your from or such you can save money by buying it online.

I believe it retails for ~$55 in the US, so your saving ~$5 from no taxes..

Also, say your buying from overseas - lets say Australia.. $50 US = $69.6 Au, now you add in oh.. lets say a ~$10 fee for Foreign currency conversion.. and your looking at $80 (rounded up..) Au. Considering that GW cost's ~$90-100 retail in Australia.. thats a saving of ~$10-20! course it does depend a lot on what the exchange rate is at time of purchase as well as any bank fee's associated with the transaction..

But it is a fair propersition (sp?) that people can save money buying it online - whether it's just a ~$5 tax saving or a $10+ saving due to currency exhange and cost of GW locally..

Hi, i bought it off ebay(the game NOT ACCOUNT) when i installed it it said that the cd key was already in use , i have emailed the person i bought it off to see that it is wiped off his computer and he says yes. I have emailed ANET have had no reply off them, and the person i bought it off has emailed them, is there anything else i can do

Lokin - yes, go and buy a legit/retail copy .. seeing as ANet will likely ban/block that account since selling accounts over ebay is against the EULA and illegal.

and CD-Key's are tied to accounts - you can't detatch the cd-key for creation in another account. Thus you can't create your own account with that CD-Key... all you could do is use the account s/he created using that cd-key.. and hope that ANet doesn't ban you or the owner gets control of the account again..

BTW.. if the person only gave you the CD-Key.. then they ripped you off because you have absolutely no way to use that CD-Key.. not that buy'ing the key over ebay was even legal anyways. The only way you could have possible used the account is if you were provided the e-mail & password used to log into the account.. without those 2 things the cd-key is 100% useless to you..

Sorry, it's not legal to resell Guild Wars if you have already opened the box and used it. And considering the CD-Key has already been used, it means that person agree'ed to the EULA & TOS, and thus has no legal rights to re-sell the product.

And if he really did e-mail them to try and cancel his ties to the account telling them he sold the account, you can expect ANet to ban/block the account since what he did was illegal and breaking the EULA.. and ANet do ban/block accounts sold over ebay if they discover it.

Well.. except that I got a copy for AU$70... without needing to use a credit card for either buying it off the site or making a paypal account from Australia.

You did? Where'd you buy your copy so damned cheap? Second hand or retail? Oh, and when did you buy it? I ask when since chances are prices have been marked down by now and thus can get it cheaper now.. *shrugs*

My brother got GW for 70 bucks too, that was 5 months ago, in a sale at EB Games. Heh.

I was sure you could go online at the GW site or something and buy another account. Or am I once again mistaken?

Kind of odd, but a buddy of mine had TWO account keys in his GW box when he bought it, and gave one to his friend. Anyone hear of this?

Given that I myself have played for around 1000 hours since the game was released, yes, i'd put it on a shelf and not worry about it till the expansion is released next year, if I was bored with it. People need to stop going "oooooo shiny" and buying every new game they see. There's plenty of reviews out there with regards to just about every game imaginable. In this day and age, there is ZERO excuse for someone to say "I got this game and didn't know I'd hate it".

I bought HL2 shortly after it was released, since GW was released I might have played it and CS Source, maybe 5 times. It's another one of those non-transferable type things due to steam. I'll probably go back to it at some point and play a bit, but I'm not upset that I can't sell it. For the amount of entertainment value it and GW have given me for my $100, I simply can't beat it. $100 dollars = 1 good night of drinking or 6+ months of CS and GW, I'll take the 6+ months thank you.

also, where I am in the US, Pennsylvania to be exact, the game retails for ~45. And you can buy an account from http://www.PlayNC.com <--Add an account to a "master account" from starting one there. It works well if you are limited in where you can purchase the game, also if you want it, download the client from http://www.Guildwars.com and DL the client.

Hope this helped.

I keep seeing strange and conflicting numbers and currencies that I don't know the exchange rate to, so here's what I've seen (in US dollars):

Target: $39.99
Wal Mart: $39.82
Electronics Boutique: $39.99
Best Buy: $49.99

Those are prices for both in-store (as of last night 11/17/2005) as well as online.

If you download the client and purchase an access key from PlayNC (http://support.guildwars.com/cgi-bin...p?p_faqid=3159 also look here if interested http://www.plaync.com/store/gw_purchase.html) it costs $49.99

I was looking for a cheaper method (as well as legal... nothing off eBay and nothing from the Used Bins) for a friend of mine, but going to EB or Walmart or Target seems to be the best (and easiest) choice.

I've seen it as low as $29.95 (Best Buy or CompUSA), but not lately. The holidays are coming up and the retailers are running scared with the U.S. economy the way it is. Keep your eyes open.

I think there's a flaw in the EULA rules because buying a 2nd hand game whereever you do is completely legit. There's nothing wrong with buying a 2nd hand game. The flaw is that it should be possible to de-activate the existing account and start a new one.

They've already stated, along with two new professions, we're getting two new slots. Bop into the riverside inn; it happens to have a great deal of info on this.

I *just* bought myself a second copy of the game & my boyfriend his own copy at EBGames. They marked GW down to $40 in the store like 2 days ago.
I think buying just the code was actually more expensive than getting the whole box from EB...I was actually complaining to someone about the code being more expensive than the entire thing, when they don't have materials or supplies to worry about.
And I'm scared to death to buy an account/code off ebay because if you get screwed over (which you have a pretty good chance of) ANet isn't going to help you, you don't know the previous acct history (bannings, etc.), and if they find out they could easily just ban the whole account.

  • Consider using two sentances instead of one.
  • 'Everything' is one word, 'I' is always capital, use 'their' instead of 'there' to imply ownership.
  • Several commas are missing.
  • Instead of "and have not fixed it", consider "and they have not fixed it".

  • Sorry I do not understand this first sentance, though it has no capital letter and you have for the third time placed a 'space' before a full stop. Consider your intended meaning in this sentance and start again.
  • Mark omissions with an apostrophe, or simply use the full wording.
  • When you refer to "our clan", you are bringing another party into the conversation without introduction. Consider using 'my clan'.

Probably more important than Grammer and Spelling is that you consider the aim of your message before you begin to construct it. In this case you should have been answering a question. Do you think you have achieved this?
