My Vote Shapershifter
Mesmerized
I choose Shifter. Retarii sounds cool, but the other two I don't like at all really, commander doesnt seem to fit since warriors already have some shouts, and the sorcerer idea just seemed to powerful, and didnt fit really.. but thats me.

I vote they all suck.
Sorcerer = slightly different Elementalist
Retarii = slightly different Mesmer
Shapeshifter = come on now, we already have Assassin, do we really want to be a clone of Diablo II?
Strategist = Boring, silly, pointless

Fighter, Assassin, Treasure-hunter, Druid, Bard, Heretic, Pirate, what should I post first?....

I agree that none of these 4 really fit in, but I'm not going to be rude about it.
We've got an incoming Assassin, and possibly a Pirate, which are both likely going to be melee type characters, and hopefully as non-majical as possible.
On the non-magical note, we've got more than enough magic users of any given type. 4 if you do not count ranger and warrior, which I consider as partials.
The Sorcerer user would be a glorified elementalist clone.
Retiari or whatever, well, if Pirate verifies any time soon there's no need.
The shapeshifter doesn't really fit in with the normal hero archtypes already used, Assassin and Pirate are pushing the envelope nicely there(since so few asked questions about a Necromancer, I guess that's alright). You're almost talking about playing monsters though. I really don't think a playable character being a were-anything would fit in at all.
Strategist is a glorified warrior clone.
I'm not condeming anyone for hoping to squeeze them in, but in my opinion, they are just repeats with different names, or don't fit in the grand scheme at all.

Actually, I was writing one recently, got half way through, and lost interest. I'll think of some in the next few days if you're interested

How about we dont assume(and we know what assume means) that we know whats going to be in an update thats so far away.
As for the ideas on new classes... Id have to go with Talon, without being rude. Instead of speculating and causing rumors, why not just wait until the game comes out?

Retiarii please but a shifter type would be good, especially if we could morph into ANY monster of which we have killed a boss (kill a charr monk boss and we can morph into a charr shamen, kill a mursaat ranger boss and we can morph into a mursaat bow).
Having said that, my all time ideal class would be a potion maker.
His spells would be based on custom designed potions using any ingredient in Tyria.

What people seem to be forgetting, is that these builds need to apply to PvE AND PvP. Shapeshifting won't work in Arenas, and a potion maker wont work either.
We have so far:
4 Spell casters (ele, mesmer, monk and necro)
1 Melee (warrior)
1 Long range (ranger)
And counting in Assassin, another semi-melee
Therefore, we need another Long Range attacker or something similar, and another hack and slash build.
Warriors take good damage and can heal, so we need one that deals BIG damage, but dies like a Mesmer. I'd say Beserker, but that's overworked. You guys figure it out :P
Long range, I have no ideas yet.

I read some thread about a Summoner-type Profession, that could make Golems out of craftable items, giving the person the ability to basically make "custom-pets." Or, a Summoner could just summon stuff on a timer, but when it dies, it leaves no corpse or gives bonus to IWAY or Necros.
So, anyway:
Shapeshifter: YES.
Summoner: YES.
I like the Retiarii write up the best, but as for a class unto itself, it seems all over the place. But the ideas could work for the Assassin or additional skills for already existing Profs.
I really dislike the Strategist.
EDIT: Need to update this, lots of new Profession threads popping up.
My current fav, the Alchemist (better than Summoner idea I posted):
