I have a shocking axe and I was wondering if I did more damage to rangers or warriors. My first instinct is that I would do more damage to warriors because they normally have 80 armor vs elemental damage where as rangers have 100 armor towards elemental damage but my experience in the arenas still have me doing more damage to rangers than warriors. Is the damage from a shocking axe still physical? or is it purely lightning damage?

Damage from a Shocking Axe is Lightning damage. Possibly it was because Rangers run more from damage than Warriors do, in Arenas at least.

BTW, nice avatar.

If the ranger was wearing studded leather armor, he has extra protection against lightning damage as well.

Nvm... I just re-read the post... ignore me.

Warriors have less armor vs. elemental, but they do get absorption runes, knight's armor pieces, and shields, which can stack for as much as -7 damage from each hit.

Who cares, kill them both, and laugh at the same time! Har har har. =)

But seriously, I'd happen to think you'll do more base damage to warriors, but with absorption runes and knights, you might end up, even though rangers have higher def. vs. Elemental, doing damage to rangers instead.

Speaking of shields, I forgot to mention that a warrior with a shield has only 4 less armor vs. elemental than a ranger, if you're attacking from the front.

Coulda just edited your first post, but yeah, shields from the front = almost same anyways, and rangers have a lower AL overall, so needless to say, rangers would probably get hit more. Now; if the warrior is fleeing, thats different. Hello, Critical Hit-bat! Whack!
