Yeah, I know, I am weak for suggesting something a lot of other games already have, but I am a bard in all those games too, so ~
Anyway, the idea is to have a class that rewards having more attribute lines with points invested, rather than just 1 or 2 lines at 12+ each. What I am looking at here is 3 attribute lines inside of bard with points spent, and 1 line from secondary with points spent as well.
The attribute lines would probably be something like this:
Primary Attribute - Singing
Secondary Attribute - Swordsmanship
Secondary Attribute - Disruption
Secondary Attribute - Rejuvenation
For the most part, the skills of this class would be AE shout based. The primary attribute would serve to increase the AE range of all the AE shouts.
The secondary attributes would have mostly manaless skills with pretty long hold times and longer recharges.
The way I envision the class to play out, it would go into a GVG and run out towards the flag stand with everyone else and then before engaging it would put up some 1 minute shouts, something like Shields Up and Fertile Seasons. It would then follow in the warriors and use some stuff like hundred blades type skills to chop on some casters and have some interrupts kinda like leech signet.
The secondary could be /monk for something like healing breeze or /necro maybe for plague touch or something like that.

New Class : Bard

The Acolyte
hehe....wow, I've seen a lot of the old school classes come around. Thieves, bards, sorcerors, etc....it's starting to feel more and more like Neverwinter Nights or EQ. lol
Actually, if I had to pick a class, I think the bard would be toward the top. Very little attacking ability, but the sacrifice would be worth the overall value to the team as an attack/defense enhancer. Would need some serious testing for balancing though...the essential being extremely poor damage output and a focus on bard specialization to really reap the benefits of the class are just a couple that need to be looked at here.

I'd want an electric guitar that does lightning damage. Give me that and I'm happy.

Use the search button.
It is, unbelieveably, your friend.
There has been plenty of topics on this, and I still think bards are just a lyrical form of a rockstar wanting to take revenge ^_^

I've always loved playing bards, especially in Ragnarok. That was just the coolest part. Eat my melody strike.
Or was it Musical Strike? Can't remember..
