Markis isn't appearing in Iron Mines for me . . .

With my necro I fought through Iron Mines three times, and all three times Markis isn't there. The Jade armors and everybody else is there, just not Markis. What's going on?

Maybe it was just a glitch where he was actually there but his graphic didn't appear. It happened to me a couple times.

Happened to me about four times. Me and a ranger party were out to get barrage and he wasn't there! We did it over and over again until he appeared.

i had that problem also, then i found out if you do the infusion part whether you have it or not, i have seen him every time

I did infusion part first 3 times. Oddly enough on the 4th time when I didn't do infusion he was there . . .

As you are running up the frozen river, you run under a bridge. If Markis is running over the bridge when you are running under it, he will be there at the end.
If Markis does NOT cross the bridge that you must run under, he will NOT be there.
If Markis does NOT cross the bridge that you must run under, he will NOT be there.

Bah this is starting to annoy me quite a bit. I just did this mission another two times, and both times Markis was running across the bridge. Yet at the end Markis isn't there.

Don't quit when you don't see him.
Everytime I did themission he was there but my fiance always had that problem where he's not at the end.
Just continue on down the path (do bonus while you're at it.) and keep traveling and he'll be there still running after the point.
It's a glitch if you run there too fast he'll end up getting stuck.
So just keep traveling down and kill him and then go back to kill the Jades.

I was about to say the same as deltis, had this happen several times to me (including my first time so thought it was normal!). Sometimes he isn't in his castle but in another location, head south from the fortress and look at your radar

I've done the mission 3 times and twice he was not there. Its a horrible glitch and one that seriously NEEDS to be fixed ANET!!!!!

Affirmative on the info above.
We did this mission on Sunday and he wasn't in the final fort. But we figured he was stuck somewhere.
Sure enough he was, waaaaaaaaay back at the beginning - took us countless mursaat to get past.
Annoyingly, we then had to run all the way BACK to the fort to kill the final 2 Jades to complete the mission.

God, how bloody annoying is this? We died trying to do bonus because of the glitch..

This happened to me once, was in a group and we got there but... he wasn't! We ran around exploring the map trying to find him but no luck

this happened to me on my first try at this. iv never had problems with it since then though. maybe instead of his scripted run, he should just be at his castle the hole time.

Yup... this is a bug... in one of the recent updates I think... We ran it 5 times this past weekend to help guildies and he was only there 3 times... We had to track him down the other times..

I'm willing to bet the "bug" is in fact that the scripts in the mission do not account for the players who like to "run" parts of the mission.
