Okay. I am a level 14 Me/N and i have 19 unused skill points. I would appreciate it if someone could give me good skills to equip. right now i have these:

Life Siphon
Conjure Phantasm
Rotting flesh
Channeling
Faintheartedness
Blood Well
*EDIT* Ressurection Signet
Animate Bone Horror

That setup is working decent, but its a mixture of like 4 different types (inspiration, blood, death, illusion) and i would like to narrow it down to have more buff and better skills.

To sum it all up, i would appreciate it if i could get a list of skills to use and where to put stat points in.

Sorry for being a newb.

Thanks in advance

Hm... I come from playing domination, but.. Channeling is probably not your best option. Energy tap is instant energy. Alternatively, Power Drain (also inspiration) does a wonderful job of interupting and giving you instant energy.

Keep healing signet at all cost

I'm not going to give you advice on your necro skills cause I don't actually play a necro.

So.. I'd get rid of one of your necro lines, put into inspiration the bare minimum you'll need to get some decent energy managment, and the rest into fastcasting. You'll find once you actually use fastcasting, you'll wonder why all skills take forever to cast on any of your other chars.

Thanks, that sounds pretty good. I used energy tap for a while but, since i didnt have much in inspiration magic back then, i only got like 8 energy at a time and it would take 30 seconds to recharge >.<

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

I have a lvl 20 Mesmer who has gone through all of PvE and spends a fair bit of time in the PvP-ing too.

I agree that you've probably spread yourself a bit thin there and are doing a lot of things, but no one thing that well! If I were you I'd probably drop Animate Bone Horror, minions are funky but really need a dedicated Minion Master to be useful, get rid of Death!

Which direction you want to go in depends entirely on what you want to do, when PvE-ing I stuck to domination through the game (and still do for the most part) to concentrate on hurting their spell casters. Illusion is handy for taking down warrs especially when used in combination with Blood. Inspiration has the energy management and is in most of my builds.

Fast Casting is a must, it's the whole reason you are a Mesmer primary after all!

Blood/Soul thief? Stealing hp and energy?

To do that properly, I think you'd need a large slew of hexes in which to totally undermine the enemy team's ability to micro-manage. What the heck am I talking about?

Well, let's do a blend of blood magic and inspiration hexes to keep both energy and hp away from your opponents. As a Me/Nec, it's good since hexes usually take a while to cast, in comes fast casting!

12+1+3 Inspiration
8+1 Fast Casting
10 Blood Magic

Let's mess with their heads shall we?

Energy Drain {E}
Energy Tap
Ether Lord
Spirit of Failure
Life Siphon
Vampiric Gaze
Mark of Subversion
Res Sig / Plague Touch

Now we have here a bevy of skills designed to act like a swiss army knife. Some skills work for a gain in 2 directions instead of just one straight forward effect.

Power Drain: it's an interrupt and e. manager in one
Spirit of Failure: quick recycle to duration ratio and good for messing with warriors and giving you energy to do...

Mark of Subversion: spam this sucker, stealing hp as punishment for spells is fun.

Life Siphon: fast recycle time coupled with 20s. duration makes it a good hex to be spammed all over the enemy team. Since there's no global hex remover anymore, this is a great way to rip away 8 pips of regen from teh entire enemy team in 4v4. Good cover hex for your Mark of Subversion as well as Spirit of Failure.

Don't expect to do any major damage with this build. DO expect however to affect the entire enemy team as a whole making it tough to defend against as well as making life easier for your team. Stealing energy to steal their hp in mass quantities. Why not?

I was thinking Power Drain instead of Ether Lord, but Mark of Subversion supposed to do a less intensive job. That and Ether Lord is a hex which means you can use it to cover or be covered for your other hexes.

This is a hexing beast...

Looking at Yukito's build, I'm not very enthused. Too much energy management and not enough stuff to spend the energy on, IMO.

i love the blood line, especially in random arenas pvp or competition arenas...

for a pve build, go with illusion and blood, with fast casting

domination:
conjure phantasm
illusion of weakness
distorsion

blood:
vamp gaze
shadow strike
life siphon
demonic flesh/dark pact/whatever

rez

pretty much get conjure + siphon for degen, the open with shadow, gaze

IoW is good when alesia isnt to be trusted, distorsion for those hard hitting ettins and such

for pvp, there are too many possiblities, i love back fire with fast casting. everyone tries to cast through it, its beautiful.

good luck, and peace out

Yeah, but i only have 36 mana (with 3 regen i think [i know, sad for a caster]) and i need some spells that will help with mana.

still, thanks.

I have 8 in Fast Cast(+1 with a rune)
11 in Domination(+2 with the mask and rune)
10 in Inspiration(+1 with a rune)
8 in Illusion(+1 with a rune)
and 9 in curses

I think I only use 1 skill on the Necro side which is Price of Failure

my other skills are Spirit of Failure, Power Block, Cry Of Frustration, Power Drain, Arcane Conundrum, Ether Feast and a Res Signet

Ive also been thinking of switching out Price of Failure for maybe Enfeeble and another skill for Epidemic to pass the weakness to all other enemies near that one(since Id use it on a melee enemy)

anybody have tips on tweaking this?

I dont like to use major or sup runes due to the health decrease and I like to keep my health up
