Whats NERFED?

Nerf refers to something the developers to do make something in the game worse. (To make softer like a nerf ball)
Like if a skill added +1000 dmg and lasted 10 minutes, they update it to only give +10 dmg and last 10 seconds..They would be "nerfing" it - making it worse.
Usually done to balance out things.

Man, if more people felt this way, maybe they wouldn't bitch, but accept it as it were. If anything can remotely effect anything else, it's suddenly "A nerf"
Example: The Recent update in AI that makes them not stand in AOE's like stupid people going, "Uh george, why is this hurting me!" Instead, they run. It's simple logic really. And this was misconstrued first as a "Nerf" to elementalists and then a "Nerf to AOE's" ...there will always be people opposed to something until the end of time..I personally think it's a great idea with bad execution, but enough on that.
Nerfing, IE: Balancing things out. <--Most simplest definition, although it roots deeper.

Today's useless trivia: the term originates from an Ultima Online update which weakened most weapons, leading to players complaining that they were now armed with Nerf(tm) bats.
