Is this still possible?
I tried over and over with my monk and could not get the energy loss to be
-2 per hit?

Tks.

Technicalyl it can..

healing prayers scalp, sup healing, staff or anythign with mod to healing prayers, max healing atts = 17. but even at max percent you have a 1 in 10 chance of actually hitting it, so yeah basically not probbable, but technically possible

Yes you can reach 17, but it has no effect on Protective Bond's energy caveat. Still -3 per hit.

There's no way to reach level 18, so we don't know what happens there.

Don't need a screenie. All skills are clamped at 0 and 15 (ie they're always whole numbers at those values). From there you can work out any of the breakpoints, keeping in mind things always round to the closest whole number.

lol even in-game these aren't always accurate. Mainly when I capture a wilderness survival skill on my ranger, it'll say e.g. 'does 5...12 secs poison damage' then when I cap and equip it, it'll say 13 secs poison... and thats only 12 wilderness survival.

lowest you can get it to is -2 per hit. Maybe if you find a +1 20% wand or something, if thats possible. With that you probably have to get them both at the same time. Then just maybe 02 per hit

We keep getting told that GW truncates instead of rounds, meaning 9.9996 = 9.
So in this case -2.99996 = -2?

Damage gets truncated, skill variables get rounded. Damage doesn't actually get truncated, just the display of it does. In this case, each level of Protective Bond reduces the energy cost by 0.2, so at 17 the energy cost is 2.6 which will round to 3, while at 18 it will cost 2.4, which will round to 2.

If I have 2hp, and someone attacks me for 1.6 damage, it will display as a -1 over my head? But will my health get truncated down from 0.4 to 0?
Will I die?

You're absolutely right. IT truncates downward if you have 2hp and hits for 1.6, you suffer -1 and are dropped to 1 life. Simple as that. As least, in my experience as a warrior, damage truncates down to the nearest whole number. No, you will not die, as you really only suffered 1 damage.

As for directly linking to this spell, I'm not quite sure. It might be as pharalon suggested; and then again I've never really been at 2 life for this scenario to happen, so I can't give accurate results.

This might be because it doesn't take into account any runes/upgrades etc

Good point, i was thinkin the same thing. Now is there a wand or sword or something that can give protection +1? ALong with the protection prayers +1 protective icon of course.

No, there is no way to reach 18 protection prayers, given all the bonuses in the current game.

Thought of something more to add :/

Will my health be truncated from 0.4 to 0, or will just the health display go from 0.4 to 0? Do you die when your health reaches zero or when your health display reaches zero?

General GW theory goes as I've experienced:

If someone does 1.6 damage to you, the damage itself is truncated to -1. Therefore, only 1 is subtracted from your current hp. Your health is never truncated.
