I log in, like normal, and I am doing my thing.

My machine has a 1400 watt audio setup. It was turned on. High volume for my audio studio stuff so that I may here clicks and feedback and what have you.

I clicked on the OTATA area, and a banner popped up. It had large, over-bearing smiley faces all over the face of it. I paid it no mind, and proceeded to scroll down the threads.

When I scrolled back up, the god damn thing blurted out "Happy Thanksgiving", and, I quite literally had to restrain myself inwardly from shitting my pants.

Now, this souns like a funny joke one could play on someone, and I can respect you guys needing to gain some revenue to help fund the site here. However, when the ads on a site start to YELL AT ME, seemingly on a timer that does not coincide with their load times, I begin to seriously wonder at things.

You may keep in mind that you have older users, and someone might have a god damn heart attack!

Okay, I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. Sorry about that SOT. Haven't seen the Thanksgiving one yet. I'll have to try and make that come up and see what's going on with that

Though please get a screenshot of the ad or the url of when you click it, I would really like to remove that ad from the rotation

That is Funny and Annoying all in one. Funny that it happened to you...annoying if my Norton wasn't loaded and it happened to me.

True us older people do not like surprising loud noises. Why do think we are so grumpy all the time....?

Nice job on the double post...

Firefox is a great solutiong, or you could just find a free ad-blocker. Most of the ads I get are fine, so I don't really mind. I don't like the google ones though, they are just so annoying. And the oversized ones were bad also.
Now that those are gone, this is one of the best sites with ads that I have ever been on.
