Crimson Carapace Shield has identical stats as green item Grognar's Defender shield. Grognar Defender baseline price is 35k.

Therefore, is Crimson Carapace Shield price about 35k?

Grognar's Defender is a unique shield dropped by Grognard Gravelhead
Note: This shield has the same stats as the Crimson Carapace Shields offered by the collectors Lord Dorn Lendrigen and Karl Jakobs.
Shield
• Armor +16 (req. 9 Tactics)
• Health +45 (while in a stance)
• Received damage -2 (while in a stance)

Grognard Gravelhead
Grognar's Blade 25k
Grognar's Sword 50k
Grognar's Defender 35k

Well, being a collector's item it has the Carapace Skin and is much more common

Still, because the bleached shells are rather difficult to accumulate, this shield has appreciated to about 8-10k in value.

In the words of Tuvok, "Your logic is flawed."

You can get the Crimson Carapace Shield from Lord Don Lendrigen for 5 Bleached Shells. Bleached Shells usually sell in Augury Rock for 1K. Therefore, the base price of the Crimson Carapace Shield is 5K - but that's only if you're not making any profit from it. I would expect sellers in Ascalon and LA ask 10-15K for it, considering the amount of work it usually takes to get one, and that it needs to be carried to those areas. Still, the easiest thing IMO is to just buy those 5 Bleached Shells in Augury Rock and run to the collector yourself.

The stats are identical. So people are willing to pay an extra 25k (35k for Grognar Defender, 10k for Crimson Carapace Shield) just because Grognar Defender is "green"?

I already bought 5 bleached shells for 5k & I am going to get me the Crimson carapace Shield and save me 30k. May even sell it for 10k and make a 5k profit!

Well, when considering price, rarity plays a large factor. Along with appearance. Crimson Carapace Shields have the CCS Skin, while Grognar's Defender has the unique Buckler skin... So... in a game where 99% of money sinks are appearance only... you can see the justification.

The whole point is that it's green. In a game where status symbols are more important than gameplay statistics, people will opt for the gold sinks rather than cheap but functional things. My main and secondary use the desert collector items instead of whatever the corresponding green items are, and I've never had a problem. Then again, my main also wears an undyed Pyromancer armor from Droks. Fissure? What fissure?

Agree with you 100%.

After i read that "Rago's Flame Staff is equivalent to a perfect Insightful Fire Staff of Enchanting, except with a unique look and Fire Magic modifiers", I exchanged 5 massive jawbones for the collectors Fire Staff and applied an insightful head (E+5) and and enchanting wrapping (enchant 20%) and made me a "Rago Flame Staff" equivalent for 30k (saved 50 to 70k).

My Pyromancer Ele ( in Droknar not fissure armor) nukes them as much as the people that paid an arm & a leg for their fissure Armor & their Rago Flame Staff.

Thanks for your feedback. I already got my Warrior character the Crimson Carapace Shield (Grognar Defender equivalent).
