Scourge Healing questions.

Hey guys,

I've been toying around with Scourge Healing and quite honestly, I really don't know what kind of "healing" is affected by SH since I don't see the damage number (unlike Empathy).

The only one I am sure is Comfort Animal. I am a beast master and I got punished once when I heal my pet. lol

I think SH affects Healing Sig as well since a warrior dies in front of me when he tries to heal. Not sure if that's the SH effect or somebody cast something on him.

Can somebody kindly give me a list of skills that would trigger SH? I know Troll Urgent does not trigger SH right? I guess this goes to Healing Breeze as well.

What about those Mend Alignment skills? You get healed by removing the condition but you do not heal yourself "directly".

And those Blood sucking skills don't trigger SH at all right? Like Vamp Touch and Vamp Gaze.

Any help will be appreciated.

Scourge healing in my experience, effects everyting BUT in-direct heals. SO direct heals like, say, comfort animal, orison, and stuff specifically healing will effect SH.

I'm not sure on in-direct, I've never seen it hurt them for casting anything with pips of regen of like healing breeze, so I can't say.

And no, lifetaps being indirect shouldn't trigger it.

What about Etheral Feast? That looks like a direct healing?

So, is Scourge Healing even worth using?

And you take SH damage BEFORE using the healing skills or after? I think Backfire comes after you cast a spell so SH probably appears after the healing spell.

Ether Feast is not a direct heal as it requires your target to LOSE mana before it takes effect. At least, I'm assuming.

Yes, SH is really useful on those infuse healthers and NPC clerics who whole constant direct heals..like Monks in FOW <tested>.

After. It resolves on the stack. They heal, and it triggers damage.

Thanks again.

I have to say Scourge Healing isn't as useful as I thought. lol

I thought SH is going to be a good way to counter monk. Man, they need more skills to counter monk. Most of the useful ones are on Mesmer/Necro.

In some situations scourge healing is an exellent skill. I believe it's a hex so it can easily be removed.

But when fighting some boss type monks scourge healing works great. It also works good on the stone summit monk (Priests of Sorrow). When you are fighting the monk boss in Thirsty River, scourge is really helpful. Those are just a couple of examples of where it works good.

There are many better anti-caster spells or strategies to use on monks in general. Overall it comes into its own when those strategies aren't strong enough. That is usually in the are of some monk bosses or high level monk mops.

For PvP I think it would have limited use unless you had a few buffer hexes to stack on top of it. Even if breeze doesn't launch it limiting a monk to indirect healing methods like breeze is expensive and restrictive.

Scourge Healing doesn't need to be covered that badly. You can just put it back on if they remove it. It's 10e and a five-second recharge.

I can't seem to figure out what triggers it even after having it put on me when playing a monk. I generally play boon prot, and it seemed like one time my reversals were triggering it and another time they weren't. Maybe the second time my Boon had been stripped and I hadn't noticed... I dunno.

Canada, almost got to see a polar bear... :P

The crazy idea I got... does Heal Party triggers it aswell? I'd like to see whole party hexed with this... so the monk kills himself just as he casts Heal Party

Btw, Backfire works before the spell's effect.
I mean if you did play as a monk - when you are backfired and try to heal yourself, first you get the damage from backfire - second you get healed.
That's probably the most stupid thing unexperinced monks do - trying to outheal Backfire damage at low hp.

It would trigger as it's a direct heal, but since the heal is triggered just "once" instead of however many groupmates you have, I don't believe it would trigger but once.

I'm pretty sure I've taken two scourge heal hits at once - shown as one big number - from Blood of the Master (yeah, stupid Dredge were scourging my undead). This would lead me to think that heal area and maybe heal party have the potential to kill your ass if enough of your buddies are scourged.
