My good pc needs a new hard drive (since its old one is busted) and I am not very familiar with hard drives, all help is apreciated
and if you know a better HD than these please, feel free to post them too

I would have to say go with the Maxtor for 2 reasons.
1) 16MB cache=less search time on the drive
2) 5 year warranty (can't beat that)

I run two of those Maxtor MaXLine III's in a RAID 0 array and I must say that I've been quite satisfied with their performance.

1, Better than all the above.

2, just as fast a WD Raptor, and a lot quieter.


I have 3 160gig Maxtor Diamondmax 10's, not bad, but getting some samsungs..

Sorry to bump this thread but I thought I'd let it be known that the two Maxtor MaXLine III's I was using and recommended made some funny sounds this morning... They're probably no more than 6-8 months old. I don't know if that matters to you, but I thought that you'd like to know that in case you decided to go with the Maxtors.
